The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be among the most modded games of this generation, with existing mods ranging from being able to play as Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia to a mod that improves the Switch version of the game visually. In one of the game's recent, most triumphant mods, one modder has created an overhaul mod that reworks some of the game's mechanics.

Modder Aleks Vuckovic has created a mod titled "The Witcher 3 - Redux," which gives the game several upgrades, as laid out on Nexus Mods. Primarily, it makes changes to Combat, Signs, and Alchemy, though it also grants other important additions to the base game of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

In terms of combat, Vuckovic states that Adrenaline is a much more important factor thanks to the Redux mod. Adrenaline can also apparently progress into much more "powerful abilities," as well. However, due to this, Adrenaline is much harder to gain but is easier to lose.

Regarding Signs, Vuckovic states that both the "scaling of sign damage and effects with sign intensity" have been altered. As such, select skills have been changed. Ultimately, putting more into the Signs skill tree will result in more powerful Signs, while investing less will make Signs of less worth than they were to start with in the unmodded version.

Alchemy has also been reworked with the Redux mod. Thanks to the mod, players will have to use specific potions more strategically. As such, the description notes that potions will be more effective when used with tact.

Other additions with the Redux mod include a sign damage scaling system described as "progressive," as well as a "fatigue" system and a resistance system involving "damage over time."

According to the mod's description, followers can now inflict greater damage, especially as applied to Sorceresses. As well, weapons degrade more slowly and food now restores Vitality over 5 minutes in real-time.

Finally, it is worth noting that none of the above applies to "New Game Plus" and can only be used with "New Game."

To download  "The Witcher 3 - Redux" and see for yourself the changes made to the vanilla game, you can download the files at Nexus Mods.
