There are plenty of unsavory individuals in The Witcher 3, and one of the worst is the crime boss Whoreson Junior. Ciri had a run-in with the man when she was in Novigrad. Thus, while playing as Geralt, you need to find him.

Updated on December 10, 2022 by Quinton O'Connor: With the arrival of The Witcher 3's next-gen versions (more accurately, current-gen versions, but we suppose the former sounds spiffier), many of us are returning to the game eager to see the world with enhanced visuals. Some may even be enticed to check out this fantastic adventure for the first time. The onus is on us as guides writers to add a similar level of shine to our older coverage!

How To Begin 'The Gangs Of Novigrad'

You acquire this mission after Junior's men attack Dijkstra's bathhouse. And to start it, you need to head to Hierarch Square in Novigrad to find and talk to Cleaver. Say "Fine, I'll help your men" in the following conversation, and the criminal will ask you to lead his crew against Junior's casino and arena.

Clearing Out The Casino

After the conversation with Cleaver, seek out his people near Whoreson's casino, which is close to Oxenfurt gate. Speak to Cleaver's henchmen and then lead them around the corner to the casino — don't stray too far when they're following you, or else the quest will fail. Outside the target building will be two guards that you and your newfound friends can easily take out. Then head inside, where they'll be more typical enemies, holding either swords or batons. Using a mix of Igni and slashes from a powerful steel sword will be enough to kill them.

Head to the next floor to find more of the same before climbing up another level. At the top will be two more guards you need to take out before opening the door to find a halfling tied to a chair. Talk to the guy to learn more about what Junior is doing. Then you can either let him go ("run") or keep him tied up ("stay a while").

The former action triggers the 'Honor Among Thieves' quest.

Clearing Out The Arena

Just around the corner from the casino, next to the city wall, you can once again meet up with Cleaver's henchmen. Talk with the crew to begin the attack on the arena, which is just a little up the road, heading northwest. The entrance is guarded by two regular human enemies that are simple to cut down.

Enter the secretive area to find many more of Junior's henchmen that you can defeat any way you please. Keep going deeper into the caverns, wiping out groups of enemies along the way. The last collection of them will include a tougher criminal that uses a shield. It's best to try and roll behind him to attack from the back, perhaps even using Yrden to help do so. When everyone is dead, the objective will be complete.

Cleaver's Reward

With Junior's two businesses destroyed, you must return to Cleaver, who's in the same exact place as before. Initiate a conversation with the dwarf and tell him that you went to "Junior's joint." After a bit more talking, Carlo will give you a reward of 300 coins, plus 50 experience, which signals the end of the quest.
