Geralt is sometimes asked to play the role of a detective in The Witcher 3 where people in need ask him to use his exceptional skills to deal with monsters and uncover a deeper plot. Warehouse of Woe is a short quest in Novigrad that has Geralt take on this role to help an exhausted city guardsman deal with a pair of angry merchants.
This guide will help you find where the quest starts and show you where to search the warehouse. The outcome of this quest is determined by how much you find and how much you want to tell.
Starting Warehouse Of Woe
You can find this quest southwest of the Novigrad Docks fast travel point, at a street between a warehouse and the city walls. It is an easy quest to miss.
You can identify the quest from the crowd of guards outside the warehouse and the loud argument between the two merchants. A human merchant is making his racism plain to see while claiming that the dwarven merchant had sabotaged the warehouse.
The guard dealing with them has grown tired of the argument and simply asks Geralt to dispose of the nekker inside the warehouse. He promises a reward for doing so.
Searching The Warehouse
The nekker is far from challenging and should be easily killed. As Geralt notes, this monster is rarely found alone.
You can end the investigation here, and return to the guard for your reward. You will be paid, and both merchants will be arrested.
The incriminating evidence is on the eastern side of the warehouse, in a corner. Use Geralt's Witcher senses to pick up a destroyed cage and a large footprint that matches a dwarf.
When you return to the guard, tell him everything you have learned to identify a culprit. The person you identify will be arrested.
As a small spoiler, if you are struggling to decide, the dwarf will imply that he caused the accident if you blame the racist.
