Experience should be every fledgling witcher’s priority in The Witcher: Monster Slayer, as many aspects of the game are level-locked, meaning you'll need to continuously level up to enjoy the game in its entirety. Level-locked features aside, many feats will be all but impossible without ravaging your alchemy stores, and those can cost a pretty penny, or involve long crafting times and invaluable ingredients to replenish.

So with the goal of constant advancement in mind, here are all of the ways to gain experience in The Witcher: Monster Slayer and how to spend your playtime most effectively.

Each monster killed nets a base 100 experience (or more depending on rarity), with a 100 bonus experience for a first-time kill. Further experience is awarded for showing exceptional prowess as a witcher by quickly dispatching monsters and using the proper blade coating.

Nemeta are The Witcher: Monster Slayer’s version of monster nests, requiring you to slay three consecutive monsters in a row. You’ll gain experience from each individual kill along with a lump sum of experience for clearing the Nemeton. Perfect parries and critical hits, along with proper oil usage and time bonuses, can be tacked on for additional experience within Nemeta challenges as well.

Equipping the right gear can also bolster experience, though you’ll need to complete an exorbitant number of quests, contracts, and Nemeta battles to afford even one article. But for those witchers flush with coin, both the A’Baeth Silver Sword and Kaer Morhen Armor will earn you 25% additional experience each while equipped.

That’s a total of 50% additional experience to be had. However, these items cost an astounding 12,000 coins, respectively. To put it in perspective for you, accruing both items would take 4 months of gameplay while earning the maximum number of coins each day, or roughly $50 in microtransactions to purchase the pair.

Booster Scrolls

The in-game shop sells Boosters on the store's Main tab. These scrolls provide different buffs when activated and can bolster your gameplay in various ways.

For the purpose of experience gain, naturally, you’ll want to pick up an Experience Scroll which will double all experience gain for 30 minutes. Combine this with a Summoning Scroll to maximize the number of kills you can pull off in the allotted time.

And of course, stacking these buffs on top of all of the other experience maximizing tips in this guide will put the experience of a Master Witcher under your belt swifter than the Griffin flies and have you leveling up in no time!
