Yennefer of Vengerberg is one of the most prominent characters in The Witcher fantasy franchise - both in the books, in the Netflix show, as well as in the games. Yennefer's position as Geralt's one true love, Ciri's adoptive mother, and a powerful sorceress cemented her as one of the fan favorites.

One of the things that stands out about Yennefer is her impeccable fashion sense. Despite Yennefer's love for muted colors and the black and white color scheme, she always knows how to draw attention to herself. Yennefer loves fashion as well as having a lot of clothes. As a result, it will come as no surprise that there are some small hidden details about Yennefer's clothes and her style and fashion sense that the fans might have missed.

10 Yennefer Wants Geralt To Dress In Her Favorite Colors

At one point in The Witcher 3, Geralt has the option to choose between two outfits Yennefer had prepared for him to wear to king Bran's funeral feast. One of the outfits is in her favorite color - black.

If Geralt chooses the wrong outfit, Yennefer will be sorely disappointed and she will let Geralt know she's displeased with his choice. Yennefer has a strong fashion sense and she wants her and Geralt's outfits to match when they're attending feasts and other social events together.

A lot of sorceresses in the world of The Witcher favor wearing dresses as often as possible. However, even though Yennefer loves fashion and wearing new clothes, she's much more practical.

Yennefer knows that sometimes it's best to just wear trousers and leave dresses for more relaxed, celebratory moments. This is what separates her from the likes of Keira Metz, for example.

8 She's Proud Of Her Features But Willing To Hide Them

Yennefer is well aware that she's beautiful. When Geralt meets her to search for Skjall in Freya's Garden, she mentions that she's inhumanly beautiful. While Yennefer seems proud of her features, she's also not vain enough not to hide them when the situation requires it.

When Yennefer goes to the Novigrad brothel Crippled Kate's to speak to the man who knows how to get into the Oxenfurt prison where the sorceress Margarita is held, Yenneger hides her face underneath a hood. She knows how important it is to save Margarita and even though Yennefer normally doesn't like wearing hoods and hiding her features, she does it anyway to pass unnoticed.

7 She Has An Alternative Look In The Games

Those people who are just starting playing The Witcher 3 might not initially know that Yennefer has an alternative look in the game. The new outfit showcases more of her shoulders and it also shows a part of her legs.

It was released for the game as one of 16 free DLCs in May 2015. Who's interested in Yennefer wearing the outfit can enable it in the main menu of the game.

6 She Doesn't Bother To Hide Her Slanted Shoulders

Yennefer was a hunchback before she underwent the transformation into the inhumanly beautiful woman she later became. However, even the transformation didn't entirely hide how she looked before. Yennefer still has slanted, uneven shoulders that suggest her back was deformed at one point.

But unlike Triss who prefers to hide her chest scars in the books, Yennefer isn't ashamed of her slanted shoulders and she wears the type of clothes that allow the world to see them. Geralt notices one of her shoulders is higher than the other the first time they meet but he doesn't point it out to Yennefer.

5 She Gets Her Own Clothes, Unlike Triss

Speaking of the differences between Yennefer and Triss, one of them relates to Yennefer's clothing as well. When Geralt and Triss attend a party together, Triss is the one who lets Geralt buy his own clothes and also asks him to bring her the masks they need for the party.

Yennefer, on the other hand, knows her fashion taste well and she gets the clothes for herself as well as for Geralt - because she wants their outfits to match but also possibly because she knows Geralt is often short on money.

4 Most Of Her Clothes Are Black And White, But Not All

Every fan of Yennefer knows that she loves the colors black and white and dresses only in clothes of these colors. However, that's not entirely the case. During a brief scene at the beginning of The Witcher 3, there's a moment between Geralt and Yennefer that's easy to miss if the player doesn't explore the room and instead goes straight to the courtyard to meet Ciri.

Yennefer is brushing her hair in front of a mirror and Geralt has the option to point out her clothes lying on the bed. He asks if all of her clothes are black and white, and Yennefer reveals that the one exception to this rule is her undergarments. However, the game doesn't return to this fact later on.

3 Yennefer Does Change Her Color Scheme Later On

It's true that for most of the stories, Yennefer wears black and white clothes. However, the players who didn't have Geralt romance her in The Witcher 3 or don't have the DLC Blood and Wine might not know even Yennefer eventually changes her iconic color scheme. If Geralt and Yennefer ended up together, she comes to visit him at Geralt's vineyard Corvo Bianco.

She's too warm in her dark clothing and Geralt points out she could get a dress of different colors - for example, green and white. If Geralt later goes to Yennefer's room, he discovers she did indeed bought a new green-white dress. However, the game doesn't show Yennefer wearing it.

2 Yennefer's Clothes Shouldn't Fit The Witchers...But They Do

The Witcher 3 Geralt, Lambert, and Eskel put on Yennefer's clothes

An interesting error in The Witcher 3 that some players might have missed if they went with a different option is that Yennefer's clothes fit Geralt, Lambert, and Eskel - even though they shouldn't. The witchers get drunk and have the option to put on Yennefer's clothes in order to pretend they're sorceresses.

However, considering the difference in their respective physiques, the witchers shouldn't be able to get Yennefer's clothes on - unless the clothes are enchanted to transform themselves to the size the person wearing them needs. But if that's the case, the game never mentions it.

1 Yennefer's Lack Of Clothes Was Forbidden In Some Countries

Finally, the developers of the game had a hard time translating the initial scenes for different cultures and countries. In the starting scene at Kaer Morhen during Geralt's dream, Yennefer is seen with no clothes on.

This didn't sit well with the Egyptian guidelines so the Egyptian version of the game has Yennefer in her underwear in the scene.
