Fortnite, Hearthstone, Counterstrike and Dota may be the big names in esports, but there's nothing stopping other games from organizing events, setting up some prize money, and trying to make some waves in the industry. The best case in point you could ever ask for is the first ever Hot Wheels Infinite Loop Tournament, which is being held in Las Vegas this weekend.

For those who don't keep track of literally every game that gets released on mobile phones, Hot Wheels Infinite Loop is a multiplayer racing game released by Mattel in August 2019. It gained a decent amount of acclaim, getting nominated at Gamescom for the best mobile game and best racing game awards (though losing both), and it has enough players to get ranked in the top 100 racing games on the iOS App store.

Then, it just kind of petered out on as a reasonably successful but ultimately forgotten racing game. It seems that Mattel believes Infinite Loop deserves more than that though, so they've gathered a few YouTubers together and have set up a contest in Vegas with hopes of gathering fans of the game from all over.

Hosted by YouTubers Tanner Fox and Tewity, the tournament will be held at Topgolf Las Vegas on Saturday, November 9. The tournament has two brackets: one for players 12 and under, and another for anyone aged 13 and up. The winner of each bracket will get a $500 prize and some Hot Wheels die cast cards, while the second place winner will get the cars and a $250 prize.

It's hardly the kind of money you'd get from a major Fortnite win, but at the same time, Infinite Loop is hardly Fortnite.

It's worth noting that this tournament was announced on November 8, so it's kind of an impromptu thing rather than an event that they're expecting people to travel the world over just to attend. The tournament is free for anyone who wants to enter or attend and the first 1,000 attendees will receive a free Hot Wheels diecast car.

Anyone who happens to be in the area who wants to give the tournament a try can enter by clicking here.
