Hatsune Miku, the virtual pop star, is making another appearance in Phantasy Star Online 2. For a third time, the Hatsune Miku collaboration event will release on the Japanese version of Phantasy Star Online 2 with new events, quests, and costumes for players to collect.

There's yet to be a confirmation as to whether or not the western version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will get this event. The trailer detailing the event's particulars is only for the Japanese version currently.

However, the likelihood of this event coming stateside is pretty high given Hatsune Miku collaboration events have already come to the western version. Miku, along with fellow vocaloid Meguirine Luka, did a live performance of their song Living Universe for western Phantasy Star Online 2 players. That event coincided with the long-awaited western release of the game, so, likely, this event will eventually make it over too.

Even though Phantasy Star Online 2 came out in Japan back in 2012, it didn't come to the west until May of this year. There's always been this precedent of western players having to wait for content from the Japanese release to make it over here, it seems.

Sega hasn't left western players in the dust, though, as currently there's a Thanksgiving Event going on right now. Various locales in the game are sporting Thanksgiving décor, and that event will go on until December 8th. Perhaps not as exciting as having a world-famous idol visit your game, but hey, it's something!
