We're just past the halfway point of September, and there are a few events in Pokemon Go left before the month ends. The Season of Mischief continues, some stylish Pokemon are making their way into the game, and a new mechanic has been introduced that lets you change your Pokemon's forms.

There'll probably be a ton of new stuff announced soon, as we come upon October and an inevitable Halloween event. Stay tuned for those updates and check back, because we'll have all the details once they're announced. For now, let's take a look at what the second-last week of September has in store.

Oshawott Community Day

Tomorrow (Sunday, September 19) is the monthly Community Day for September — this one featuring Oshawott, who will be spawning in droves. The event runs 11am to 5pm, local time, with a two-hour window after the event ends in which you can obtain the special Community Day move, Hydro Cannon. Here are all the details.

Field Research tasks will reward supplies and Stardust. Finally, taking snapshots will reward encounters with Oshawott (up to five times).

This time around, there's a second special move being added — Razor Shell — but this one isn't event-exclusive. The move will be added to Samurott's movepool permanently and available going forward.

To obtain the actual event-exclusive move, Hydro Cannon, evolve a Dewott (Oshawott's evolution) into Samurott from 11am to 7pm local time.

Remember: Community Days typically bring out a lot of players, and many can congregate in the same areas. Be sure to wear a mask, wash your hands whenever possible, keep your distance from those who don't live with you, and follow all your local health authority's guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Special Research and Timed Research

There are two Special Research updates coming as part of this event, as well as a limited-time set of Timed Research quests.

Meloetta: The Meloetta Special Research was initially available to those who purchased a GO Fest ticket, but it's now being opened up to everyone. You'll be able to finish the questline at your own pace — there's no time limit. If you already completed it as part of your GO Fest ticket, it'll reward Meloetta candy in place of the Meloetta encounter.

Hoopa: The next step of the Hoopa Special Research, Misunderstood Mischief, will unlock as part of this event. It'll focus on Pokemon form changes.

Timed Research: There will be some event-exclusive Timed Research that rewards encounters with costumed Pokemon and a Furfrou Wig avatar item. That wig will be available for purchase in the in-game shop after the event.

Other Stuff

There are a few other features of the Fashion Week event to look forward to.

  • Trainer avatars will be appearing at PokeStops with fashionable Pokemon. You can battle them to earn rewards.
  • There will be Hoopa Bangles for sale in the in-game shop
  • Some avatar items will be on sale for a limited time
  • Blitzle and Zebstrika will be available in their shiny forms (costumed in the event, regular forms afterward)
  • Raid bosses for this event are listed a bit lower on this page.

Azelf

The Americas and Greenland

Mesprit

Africa, Europe, India, and the Middle East

Uxie

Asia-Pacific

Raid Hour is on September 22 from 6pm to 7pm. Tier 5 Raid Eggs will spawn on most gyms, hatching around 6pm into whichever Lake Guardian spawns in your region!

Tuesday, from 6pm to 7pm, there will be a Spotlight Hour featuring Skitty. This Normal-type from Hoenn will be boosted in the wild, and there will be a double catch candy bonus in effect.

Master League

There's probably going to be a ton of new stuff announced next week, since it'll be the changeover to October. Expect Halloween-themed events, a new monthly Research Breakthrough Pokemon, and maybe even some new Ghost-types. For the week of September 27, here's what's going on:

Master League, Master League Classic, and the Little Jungle Cup

On September 27 at 4pm EDT, the Go Battle League will change over. The Ultra League and Ultra League Remix will end, and the new cups will begin: Master League, Master League Classic, and the Little Jungle Cup. During this period, the Stardust rewards for winning will be tripled. End-of-set rewards are not tripled, though!

  • Master League: Allows any Pokemon with any CP, without limits
  • Master League Classic: Allows any Pokemon with any CP, except those powered up with Candy XL
  • Little Jungle Cup: Only allows Pokemon under 500 CP; only allows Pokemon with the following types: Normal, Grass, Electric, Flying, Bug, Ground, Poison, and Dark; Shuckle and Smeargle are not allowed

This portion of the Go Battle League will close on October 11 at 1pm EDT, and the Great League and Halloween Cups will start.

Spotlight Hour and Raid Hour

The Spotlight Hour for the week will be Alolan Meowth with a bonus of double transfer candy. It will take place from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday, September 28.

The Raid Hour will again feature the Lake Guardians. It runs from 6pm to 7pm on September 29.

October Monthly Changeover
