The modder known as Skymoon has made Thomas the Tank Engine turn up in Elden Ring. The train can be found barreling towards players beneath an early boss known as the Tree Sentinel. The mod basically replaces the horse of this boss with the beloved blue locomotive.

Skymoon has made the mod available to the Elden Ring community on Nexus Mods. While players can download this free of charge, the installation requires a program called a UXM which is currently available for other games by FromSoftware including Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but which has not yet been developed for Elden Ring. This would allow players to properly unpack the mod into their game files.

This comes in the wake of Thomas the Tank Engine being modded into dozens of different games over the years. The boss in Resident Evil 2 called Mr. X for example was turned into the big blue train back in March, 2019. The locomotive rolled into Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice a couple of months down the line, replacing the boss known as the Great Serpent. Thomas the Tank Engine has most recently been seen destroying the galaxy as a Reaper in Mass Effect.

Players have been modding Elden Ring ever since the game was released last month. Because the game shipped without a pause button, this became one of the first things to be modded into Elden Ring, with a photo mode following soon afterwards. Players have most recently been treated to ray tracing. Elden Ring has been at the center of a debate concerning difficulty, prompting modders to release both an easy mode and a hard mode for the game. Where modders might go from here is hard to predict.
