Right before it came out, we learned that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands would include Crossplay to PC, Xbox, Stadia, and PlayStation (the last of which wasn't possible in Borderlands 3). It was fantastic news for fans who just want to play with their PlayStation-owning friends.

There are Poetry Pages, Lore Scrolls, and Lucky Dice to find in the Snoring Valley, Tiny Tina's tutorial zone.

Upon starting Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for the first time, you'll be asked if you want to allow Crossplay through SHiFT. If you agree and sign up, you'll be able to play with people on other platforms! We'll detail how to go about doing just that.

Updated December 13, 2023, by Sean Murray: If you're looking to play with friends across every one of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' platforms, you've come to the right place. We've refreshed this guide with improved formatting, more breakout tips, and additional links to other helpful topics.

Reviewing The Settings

tiny tina's wonderlands - network and social settings

Start by reviewing all the Network and Social Settings. These will allow you to adjust who you will engage with and talk to in the game. Basically: do you want it to be limited only to the people you know, or not?

After that's done, you can click on the little group of pals with a plus sign in front of them on the upper right-hand side of the main menu or the pause menu to access more multiplayer features.

You'll notice that there's a 'SHiFT' section here, which allows you to connect a SHiFT account to the game so that you can earn extra rewards.

Once you're leading a party, whether it's made up of friends or strangers, you can adjust its settings with the gear icon on the pause menu or main menu.

The privacy settings are pretty self-explanatory:

  • Friends Only
  • Invite Only
  • Open To Public
  • Local Only
  • LAN Play

The Group Mode determines how the loot distribution will work:

  • Cooperation (everyone gets their own loot)
  • Coopetition (first to the loot gets the loot)

Playing With Friends

In order to play with friends, you'll need to get some friends!

This is simple: go to your multiplayer settings by hitting that same button and check out your roster. To add a friend, just make sure they already have the game and then enter their Display Name.

You'll search the Display Name and find the right person, then just send them a friend invite! (This is also how you can block people, in case, god forbid, you ever need to do that.) Once someone is on your friend list, they'll appear in your roster, and you can check there to see if they're online or not.

To add a friend to your party in-game, you just need to invite them through this menu.

Casual Meet-Ups

tiny tina's wonderlands - multiplayer status

In addition to regular parties, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands also gives you the ability to passively tell your friends what you're up to. You can edit your Status, which consists of two parts:

  1. Whether or not you want help
  2. What kind of content you're doing

Your options for content include...

  • Main Quests
  • Side Quests
  • Campaign Challenges
  • Boss Runs
  • Farming Loot

When your friends check their Roster, they'll be able to see the status you've set. If you've said you want help, they may offer to jump into your party! Even if you've said you don't want help, someone might message you to say that they're working on the same content as you.

This system means you don't have to be actively looking for parties, but you're also not opposed to joining or being joined by a friend who happens to be online at the same time as you.

Playing With Strangers

If you don't have any friends (or maybe you're just playing at 3 AM and they're all asleep), you can also use the in-game matchmaking system to develop a party with strangers. To start matchmaking, you need to decide whether you're going to play in the Campaign or the Chaos Chamber.

The Campaign matchmaking system is available as soon as you start Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. It allows the players to play through the main quest and world of the game.

The Chaos Chamber matchmaking system only becomes available once you finish Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' campaign. In it, you test your skills against especially challenging foes and can adjust the 'Chaos Level' as you succeed to make the encounter harder and harder.
