Someone has a bone to pick with Titanfall. Both Titanfall and now Titanfall 2 are unplayable for many people thanks to an unknown hacker that has found a way to prevent anyone from accessing the games' servers.

We first found out about this issue back in April. Our own Cian Maher reported on Titanfall players unable to play at all due to a racist hacker who either flooded a server with bots to prevent players from joining or flooded players with racist messages after they joined.

This situation had been going on for years with Respawn officially acknowledging the situation just last month. "Now it seems that the hacker has taken aim at Titanfall 2, and they've upgraded their assault.

As reported by Eurogamer, Titanfall 2 streamers are pleading for help online after being apparently "blacklisted" by a nefarious entity. They say they've been "under siege for weeks," completely unable to play any of Titanfall 2's multiplayer modes.

Titanfall 2 streamer Astraeus showcased the hacker's work in his latest video. He believes that whoever this hacker has somehow figured out a way to blacklist specific player IDs, disconnecting every attempt to play online. The DDoS attacks happen regardless of whether or not the streamer is actually streaming.

Respawn responded to the latest wave of attacks stating, "We're aware of a new wave of DDOS attacks affecting the Titanfall games. Team is investigating." Titanfall 2 community coordinator Jason Garza also responded, but warned that "this one will take time."

Meanwhile, nobody knows exactly who this hacker is or why they're taking specific aim at Titanfall. It's possible that the hacker might be the same one that has been haunting Apex Legends' ranked play for some time, but nobody knows for sure.

Rumors that Respawn is set to take legal action against that Apex Legends hacker is a sure sign that the developer is willing to do whatever it takes to save its games, but lawyers don’t move nearly as fast as game developers to fix an issue. Here’s hoping Respawn figures out a technical way to stop this hacker for good.
