Wednesdays are officially the new Fridays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Loki star Tom Hiddleston announces the show shifts its release date to begin streaming two days earlier. In addition, Marvel drops another Loki trailer with plenty of unseen before scenes.

The new announcement comes straight from Hiddleston, who appears in front of the camera outside of his character’s portrayal. The actor explained “Loki tends to get left out in fans’ long superhero montages, despite him being incredibly heroic.” To prove that, the actor decides to rewrite the timeline a little, shifting Loki’s release date from June 11 to June 9. So yes, now the fans will see the adventures of the trickster a bit earlier than expected.

Therefore, every weekly episode of Loki will release on Wednesdays instead of the usual Friday schedule. Both previous Marvel shows, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed the more usual pre-weekend formula.

Marvel also showed a fresh glimpse on the Loki TV series, emphasizing Owen Wilson’s character Mobius M. Mobius. Judging from what we saw, Mobius will try to redeem the trickster god in the eyes of The Time Variance Authority, which arrested Loki for breaking the reality timeline during his escape in Avengers: Endgame. As far as fans know the character, this will be not an easy task for the TVA member.

Earlier Hiddleston shed some light on the trickster’s multifaceted identity, which will be explored in Loki. The actor hinted “there’s definitely the reason for the show’s logo to constantly change and restore itself.” According to Hiddleston, the Loki show will focus on “the character’s identity, who tries to integrate the disparate fragments of the many selves that he can be.”

Loki is coming to Disney+ on June 9. It will be followed by animated What If…? series, slated for release in Summer, and Hawkeye show with Jeremy Renner, coming in late 2021. Renner already announced he’s wrapped filming on Hawkeye, where he will team up with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
