We may have to wait until February 2022 before we see Tom Holland in Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted, however, it looks like we’ll be seeing his Nathan Drake haircut before then. The 24-year-old actor has revealed his decision to keep his trim from the video game adaptation for his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3.

In an interview with Esquire, Holland mentioned that the costume department working on the third entry in his Spider-Man series wanted to fit the actor with a wig. This was due to Holland’s sleeker haircut for his role as Nathan Drake, which to them looked too cool to be Peter Parker’s haircut. The department wanted to attach a wig to the short shaven sides of Drake's look, while they also felt the slicked back look didn’t seem to match Parker’s "loser" style.

When confronted with the wig idea, Holland stated that he used his authority as a lead actor to put his foot down for the first time in a production. “‘I’m not fucking wearing that wig” he told the crew, “I’m going to have shorter hair and you’re going to have to deal with it.” Holland alluded that this was not something he would normally have done, but the actor seemed to be strongly attached to Drake’s haircut. The actor’s determination to retain his “cooler” cut seemed to have paid off, therefore, you’ll be able to see Drake’s slicked back locks when Spider-Man 3 releases in December.

Uncharted joined the list of many productions that got delayed due to the pandemic, but it promises to deliver and stay true to Naughty Dog’s canon. Holland also revealed that the adaptation has the “biggest action sequences” he’s experienced in a production, rivaling that of the Avengers films or his own stunt-filled Spider-Man series.

Over on the web-slinging side of his work schedule, Holland also spoke to Esquire about the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield rumors. The actor confirmed that neither of the two actors would be appearing in the third film, squashing any hope that fans have built up. However, Holland has a penchant for revealing spoilers, so Marvel may have kept him the dark or used him as a ploy to put fans off the scent.
