It seems like video game adaptations are all the rage these days, as a new report has suggested that a Tomb Raider television series is in the works over at Amazon, with Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge set to write the scripts. However, despite playing a leading role in Fleabag, it's reported that Waller-Bridge will not be playing the role of Lara Croft in the show herself.All of this is according to The Hollywood Reporter, which claims the series is currently in the development stages and is the latest project to come from Waller-Bridge's renewed contract with the streaming giant. Waller-Bridge is also set to executive produce alongside former head of comedy and drama Ryan Andolina and former head of overall deals Amanda Greenblatt. We don't have a potential release date for the show, although it's likely far off considering it's still in the development stages.With this report, Tomb Raider is now the third video game series that Amazon is adapting that we know of. Not only did it recently confirm that a God of War television show is currently in production, but it also has a Fallout series on the way too, which a new round of leaked set pictures revealed will be pretty faithful. We'll probably see a lot more adaptations in the future as well, as the successes of both Netflix's Witcher series and HBO's The Last of Us likely have Amazon scrambling for its own video game-related hit.
