The Tomorrow Children gives off a whole new concept behind the whole Dystopian future genre, and the world it built is something worthy of gaming history. Forming bonds with other players with the sole purpose of rebuilding society is an excellent aspect of the game, and the player base enjoys being part of such a rich community.

A few things have changed since the original release in 2016, bringing a new wave of players coming to solidify the Void. Let’s check out some Tips and Tricks that will help with the rebuilding of a new society. Let’s go, Comrades; it’s time.

10 Explore The Tutorial Island

Tutorial Island Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

The first area you encounter in the game is the Tutorial Island, where you’ll go through all the basics of the game. It covers topics like how light is your main source of life sustenance and how it's your job to help rebuild the world after it was wiped out.

Many of you tend to rush through it, wanting to get to the game, but the team at Q-Games are true world builders. This is where you’ll find loads of secret areas, so don’t forget to take your time; there won’t be any turning back.

9 Eat Your Mushrooms

main character and mushroom in tomorrow children

You’ll find your first mushrooms on the tutorial island, those little plants that give off light and help you survive down in the mines. If you need to free up your hands, don’t forget that those mushrooms are edible; even better, they let you glow for a bit.

These mushrooms offer a full belly and a nice little glow that’ll keep you alive in the depths of any island.

8 Triangle Away To Save Time

Main Character in Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

The triangle button is your quick action button. Don’t forget to hold it down when you're going up or down a ladder. This way, you’ll be able to speed climb them.

This will help you when you haven’t eaten any mushrooms and need to quickly get out of the dark. Don’t jump, as that does damage your HP. Slow and steady may win the race, but that just isn’t the case when it comes to these in-game ladders.

7 Build Your House

Once you’ve done enough good for society, the game will reward you with a Bourgeoisie card. Once you have that, you’re considered good enough to own a house. Now that is a fancy perk if you ask us.

Once you have your house, you’ll also get a Residence Card, allowing you to change outfits and receive gifts from other players. It’s a win-win situation. A roof over your head, a closet, and gifts; what else do you need?

6 Don’t Rush Toward Islands

Saved Soul in Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

Once you arrive at your town, you’ll first notice the appearance of islands in the distance. Those islands are where you’ll find the materials you need to grow your town and build new structures.

But don’t go running towards them without having the right equipment with you; you might need a light. If you try to get there too quickly, you might fall into the Void. So be careful when venturing out, Comrade.

5 Crystals Solidify The Void

When you first reach an island outside your town, you’ll realize how sometimes the ground beneath your feet isn’t solid. That would be the Void we mentioned earlier. As a Comrade in this society, your job is to rebuild the world we once knew as much as it is to not fall into the Void. One way to help that is by finding crystals.

Once you find a Crystal, bring it to the spot you can’t seem to get past and activate it by pressing Square. The Crystal will solidify the Void, and you’ll reach the island without risking your life.

4 Make Friends

Ai Friend in Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

The main aspect of The Tomorrow Children is cooperation. You are Comrades for the World’s Sake. As a Comrade, you need to make friends, not only because it’s in your title but because this way, you’ll increase the output of your Town and your Allies' Towns.

In the Phoenix Edition, the team at Q-Games added a whole list of AI friends that can help you if you’re a little more of a light multiplayer fan and prefer to play the game solo. It's a great feature that’ll bring new players that were skeptical when the first release hit the PSN.

3 Dig Away

Secret Area on Island in Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

With your mighty pickaxe, you’ll be able to dig through the islands that appear around you, and the deeper you venture, the darker it becomes. Keep in mind that sometimes you’ll find that you can’t jump out of an island area, so you’ll just have to dig across it.

There are a few things you always need with you, but the most important of them is a flashlight. If you don't have one and you’re near the edge of an island, you can dig a 'window' and bring in some light.

2 Listen Out For The Cries

Matrioska Resuscitator Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

As we said in the first entry, the Tutorial Island is full of secrets; this is a little hint from Q-Games to get you in the mood to explore every island for secrets. One of the most common secrets is the Matrioska. Matrioskas are souls of those lost to the Void, and you can bring them back to life with a Resuscitator.

They’ll be scattered across the islands you visit, and you’ll hear them weep when you are nearby. The game will tell you how many are left to find on that island. Bring them back to your town because they’ll also give outside missions that are great fun.

1 Get The Power Running Quickly

Power Plant in Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

Once you first receive your town, the center will have enough power for you to survive at the beginning. But it won't last. It’s really important that you build the Power Station as soon as possible. The last thing you want is to have no power in your safe haven and risk dying in your own town.

This is probably the most important tip to enjoy in the early game stages.
