The Tony Hawk series has featured of long line of great guest skaters, including the likes of Shrek, Darth Maul, Spider-Man, and even Green Day's Billy Joel Armstrong. Now according to recent leaks, it looks like Jack Black might be adding his name to that list when the remastered Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 hits shelves in September.
A Reddit user by the name of PrestoMovie uncovered an image of the actor's likeness within the demo's PC files. It appears as if Black will be portraying Officer Dick, a reoccurring character in the Tony Hawk universe. Although we've seen the officer in past games, this is the first time he'll resemble a famous actor.
Black's involvement in the new Tony Hawk game doesn't come as a giant surprise. The Birdman himself has been friends with the actor for years, and Black even featured Hawk on his gaming YouTube channel back in May. During the episode, the two played the new game and tried to do some real-life skateboarding as well.
Black is no stranger to the world of gaming. Aside from running his YouTube channel, he famously voiced the lead character in 2009's cult classic action-adventure game, Brütal Legend, and recently recorded a song for the upcoming Psychonauts 2. Despite being both an actor and musician, it's clear Black still has plenty of room in his heart for video games too.
His character, Officer Dick, will be featured amongst a large roster of both past and present pro skaters, including Eric Koston, Bob Burnquist, and even Hawk's own son, Riley Hawk. Based on the series' history, Jack Black's officer of the law probably won't be the only guest skater to reference some other form of media or pop culture.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will completely remaster the original two games in the series, released all the way back in 1999 and 2000. With its iconic soundtrack, nostalgic maps, and revamped visuals – the game will be a great trip down memory lane for those who played the originals, as well as a perfect starting point for newcomers. Expect to see it on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 4.
