Remember Toon Disney and shows like Fillmore! and House of Mouse? Remember Disney Afternoon where you could watch shows like TaleSpin, Gargoyles, and Goof Troop? Remember Jetix where you could watch shows like Get Ed, A.T.O.M., and Digimon? Ah, those were the days.

Many of us grew up with Toon Disney as the main channel to watch. For those of us that were obsessed with cartoons and anything animated, Toon Disney was our go-to channel. And even though it’s changed names over the years and has eventually become Disney XD, it still shows us that animation is a medium that will never perish as long as there are people who love it and will watch it.

Toon Disney was also one of those channels that brought over shows from other channels. It eventually even incorporated anime shows like Digimon and Oban Star Racers when it turned into Jetix. It’s an interesting channel that gives us a pretty wide variety of cartoons and animation. And with that also comes a huge array of characters. For many shows, the reason why we liked them was that they had interesting characters. And many people showed their love of these characters through fanart.

But what if these characters looked a little different? What if these fans decided to play around with character designs? Well, that’s what we’re here for! Here are 20 characters from Toon Disney that have been reimagined as girls! Let’s go meet these fun ladies!

Think we missed some really good fan art? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below!

20 The School Yard Will Never Be The Same

Via: infernotornado.deviantart.com

Recess was the show that really nailed what it was like to be a kid in school. There were days when school felt like an endless prison and recess was the only good thing we had going for us. And all of the characters were pretty likable and relatable. (My personal favorites were Spinelli and Mikey.) While the plot wasn’t particularly complex or deep, it didn’t need to be. This wasn’t a story about a bunch of kids going on some crazy adventure. These were just kids that were going to school and trying to have a little fun while they were there.

I like that while these characters have been genderbent, they’ve retained their personalities and styles. Female TJ is still rocking the backward cap and totally planning her next scheme. Female Mikey is still huge and lovable, and female Vincent is still a total jock and looks fantastic! And female Gus is seriously adorable; her glasses suit her very well. I wonder if her dad would still be super hard on her, or if he would go easy on her. I do also like that male Spinelli is still rocking the long hair. Considering Spinelli was such a tomboy in the first place, it’s not that surprising that male Spinelli wouldn’t look too different.

19 Just Grab Onto Some DuckTales With These Ladies

Via: snowballflo.tumblr.com

You can’t get more classic than Ducktales, and the reboot is just as awesome (David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck gives me life). Who doesn’t love Scrooge McDuck going on crazy adventures with his three great-nephews? And we can’t forget Webby and Launchpad (though Webby has a split fanbase, and I do prefer her in the reboot). This series captured the hearts of many people and the reboot is also capturing many old and new fans. Part of what makes Ducktales pretty awesome are the characters. And the main ones are the triplets: Huey, Dewey, and Louie. While they were pretty interchangeable in the original series, the reboot did give them more distinct personalities and looks. So, what would these three look like as girls?

Well, according to this artist, they look pretty awesome! Now, this version is based on the reboot instead of the original series, but we’re counting it. I like that female Louie kept her hoodie, but also opted for a skirt. Female Huey’s outfit is cute and practical, and female Dewey’s is attention-grabbing and casual. I don’t know if much would change if the triplets were girls. Something tells me they’d be just as mischievous and prone to getting into trouble.

18 Time For This Girl To Dragon Up

Via: psychopathforcoffee.tumblr.com

Remember American Dragon: Jake Long? I thought the concept behind the series was actually pretty cool. The idea that dragons were basically guardians of the other magical creatures in their region is a fun concept, and I liked how the magical world more or less co-existed with the human world. (Though most humans still didn’t know about the existence of magic.) What was also fun about this series was the culture clash going on between Jake and Gramps, who was training him in his dragon abilities. It’s a classic case of two generations having a hard time getting along and understanding each other, but as the series progressed, we see the two become closer and more supportive of each other. Gramps even takes on some of Jake’s mannerisms occasionally, which is pretty funny.

The idea that dragons were basically guardians of the other magical creatures in their region is a fun concept.

Jake as a girl looks pretty awesome! I like that the artist didn’t change her dragon form too much since we don’t see a huge difference between male and female dragons in the series (the females may be a tad bit slimmer, but that’s about it). And I could see female Jake totally still being a skater. It would be interesting to see her reaction to Gramps' unorthodox training.

17 This Lady Is (Un)stoppable!

Via: amethyst-ocean.deviantart.com

You have to give kudos to Ron for always tagging along in Kim’s missions and helping out however he could (though half the time he’s freaking out). He may not have a lot of practical skills needed to take down supervillains but he’s still enthusiastic and supportive of Kim. I think in some ways, Ron actually keeps Kim be kind of grounded, reminding her to relax and just be a teenager. And by doing so, he comes across as super goofy, but I think Kim likes that because he reminds her to not take everything too seriously. That’s probably one of the reasons they work well as a couple. They complement each other well and they support each other in all their goals.

I like this genderbent fan art of Kim and Ron, especially since the artist decided to keep them in the same art style as the show. Male Kim with short hair looks pretty cool, and female Ron with long blond hair and those signature freckles is super cute. I do find it interesting that they’ve switched outfits where male Kim has the longer shirt and female Ron has the crop top. Though I don’t know if female Ron would be any more competent on missions. And she’d probably still be into Bueno Nacho.

16 Watch Out For This Wild Lady

Via: yohiri.deviantart.com

Did you know that Tarzan got his own TV series called The Legend of Tarzan? And it was actually pretty fun. It covered all the adventures Tarzan and Jane had as they lived their lives in the African jungle. We got to see Tarzan fight off some pretty interesting enemies, and we got to see how his relationship with Jane progressed as a couple. They’re a really sweet couple, and I love that the show both captured Tarzan’s fierceness and his gentleness. He may be this powerful warrior, but he can also be a very soft and kind guy, especially when it comes to his wife. (Were they married at this point? I’m not sure.) And the fact that Jane’s father is there too makes the show all the more enjoyable. We love that crazy little professor.

Technically, this fanart is from a scene in the movie, but it’s beautiful, so I’m counting it. I like that the artist drew female Tarzan with muscle. She’s been living in the jungle all her life, of course she’s going to be incredibly fit. It’s also entertaining that her hair doesn’t really change. And male Jane is very sweet. I like that the artist gave him some sideburns and still drew him completely in awe of these birds. It would’ve been interesting to see this interaction between an English gentleman and a wild jungle woman.

15 Agrabah Is Looking A Little Different

Via: dorodraws.deviantart.com

What quite a few people didn’t know was that the movie Aladdin: The Return of Jafar was the movie to kickstart a spin-off animated series. The series covers the time in-between when Jafar is ended for good and when Aladdin and Jasmine got married, since there was apparently a bit of a time passage between the two. The series itself was pretty fun, and it was cool to see Aladdin actually learning the responsibilities of becoming a Prince and eventually Sultan. And we see him deal with those responsibilities, which couldn’t be easy. Plus, the fact that they were often battling various sorcerers and monsters was also pretty fun.

I wonder if anything would change in how these two met if the genders were switched.

A female Aladdin is an interesting concept, and I wonder if things would’ve changed in the movie and the series. I think she’d still be this scrappy street rat who steals to survive, and she’d still be very kindhearted and compassionate. I love this artist’s design of a female Aladdin and a male Jasmine. They both look amazing. Aladdin with long hair looks gorgeous. And I love her royal outfit. Plus, male Jasmine looks very striking too. I wonder if anything would change in how these two met if the genders were switched. Would female Aladdin still save male Jasmine from the misunderstanding at the market? Would male Jasmine have even been confined within the palace walls in the first place?

14 This Empress Is Just Fabulous

Via: chichiriyuki.deviantart.com, philliplight.tumblr.com

While it makes sense for some movies to have a spin-off series since there’s a lot you can explore and have fun with, creating a spin-off series of The Emperor’s New Groove called The Emperor’s New School makes a little less sense. I guess the idea of the Emperor having to deal with school issues is a kind of funny concept, but the biggest problem I had with the series was the fact that Kuzco became that arrogant jerk he was at the beginning of the movie. It was like he never went through the events in the movie. Though to the series credit, it does show Kuzco maturing, so maybe he just needed more time to really change. Well, the series was interesting, to say the least.

You can bet that a female Kuzco would be just as fabulous and self-centered as her male counterpart. She’d be all about the fashion and looking as good as possible. It would’ve been interesting if a female Kuzco had gone through the events of the movie and the series, though I don’t know if she would’ve become emperor if she were a girl. Though I guess that Yzma was about to become Emperor (or Empress, whatever you want to call it) in the movie, so I guess people were cool with it. Also, I want to see how female Kuzco would’ve interacted with Pacha.

13 These Rescue Rangers Look Lovely

Via: twinlightownz.deviantart.com

You know you want to sing that theme song (Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip n Dale!) Anywone who grew up watching Disney Afternoon has at least seen one episode of Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers. The series was pretty fun, following the adventures of these plucky chipmunks as they take on cases that were deemed unimportant. Basically, they look out for the little guy, which is both sweet and kind of hilarious. And while these two brothers are fairly different in personality, they work surprisingly well together. I’d want them working on my case. But how would these two chipmunks look if they were lady chipmunks?

I believe this art piece is actually based on an episode where Chip and Dale had to dress up as girls, but we’ll count it. They both look like they’re actually having a lot of fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had to cross dress every now and then for a case. And they’d probably be fine with it. Hey, whatever you’ve got to do to get the job done. I also like that not only are they wearing dresses, but wigs too. Say what you will, these two are committed. It would be interesting to see a couple of female chipmunks as rescue rangers.

12 She’s About To Get Dangerous

Via: cangomi.deviantart.com, rockmangurl.deviantart.com

I feel like Darkwing Duck was a cartoon superhero parody before superhero parodies were a big thing. (Yeah, you had stuff like The Tick, but Darkwing Duck was more for the younger audience.) And what made this series fun was while it was a bit of a parody, you still had well-rounded characters going through some pretty interesting scenarios and hardships. Darkwing Duck was pretty dramatic and over the top, but his alter ego, Drake Mallard, was just a father doing his best to raise his adopted daughter and deal with the woes of suburbia. The show could get silly, but it could also get pretty heartwarming. You couldn’t help but like this hero, even if his ego was super inflated. He may be arrogant and an egomaniac, but his heart’s in the right place.

She looks both dangerous and a bit alluring.

I think a female Darkwing Duck would be very interesting. And I love the design this artist gives of Lady Darkwing Duck. She looks both dangerous and a bit alluring, which is pretty awesome. I definitely wouldn’t want to get on this lady’s bad side. It would be cool to see how a female Drake Mallard would deal with everyday life and with her responsibilities as a hero.

11 This Goof Looks So Sweet

Via: kawaii-panda-sama.deviantart.com

Max is pretty different from Goofy in a few ways. While he can be clumsy, he doesn’t have nearly has much trouble as Goofy usually does. And while Goofy is pretty silly and likes to crack jokes all the time, Max tends to be a tad more serious. At least in Goof Troop, he was a bit more focused on being cool. But in Goof Troop, we got a better look at Goofy’s only son, and while the kid could be annoying sometimes, you knew he was just being a kid. And you could tell that Max meant the world to Goofy, and their relationship is pretty sweet and realistic at the same time. So, what would Max look like as a girl?

According to this artist, female Max, (or Maxine) looks pretty cute. I like that the artist kept the buck teeth since that is part of Max’s iconic look. And I do feel like Maxine would still be rocking the hoodies. I think she’d be pretty casual in her dress and demeanor, and she’d totally still love skating. Though I wonder if her relationship with her father would be any different. Maybe they’d be close, or maybe Goofy would struggle to relate to his young daughter. It’s hard to say.

10 These Two Girls Are Total Geniuses

Via: fruttistdar.deviantart.com

If you think about it, Phineas and Ferb are a couple of child geniuses. How else would they be able to come up with all these crazy inventions and machines and have them actually work? I like that both of them have their strengths and they play up to each other’s strengths. Phineas usually is the one who has the big ideas, but maybe not all of the knowledge of how to make that a reality. Ferb is the engineering genius, but he needs an idea of what to build. Between the two of them, they manage to create some seriously impressive stuff.

I don’t think female Phineas and Ferb would be much different than their male counterparts. They’d probably still be into building crazy stuff to make their summer more interesting. I do like that the artist gave them long hair, though it’s still a little hard for me to imagine these two as young girls. The two do look super cute in their skirts, though. Would Isabella still have a crush on Phineas? Hmm, that would definitely be interesting. It would be interesting to see if their relationship with Candace would be any different. Maybe she wouldn’t be as annoyed with them, or maybe she’d still see them as her obnoxious little sisters.

9 She's Going To Infinity And Beyond

Via: heathinator.tumblr.com, artstation.com (Mohamed Saad)

Did you know that Buzz Lightyear got his own show called Buzz Lightyear of Star Command? Well, kind of. More like it was the Buzz Lightyear that actually was a space ranger, and the series followed his adventures with his companions in space as they protected others from evil villains. The series was actually pretty awesome, full of fun action, interesting characters, and pretty awesome animation. And it did run for a while, having 65 episodes, which is pretty decent for a cartoon series. If you wanted to watch a fun cartoon show about epic space battles, this is a good show to get into. (Plus Patrick Warbuton voices Buzz in the series, which is enough reason alone to watch them.)

You may not see much of a difference since Buzz was rarely not wearing his suit.

But how would Buzz look if he were a she? To tell you the truth, you may not see much of a difference since Buzz was rarely not wearing his suit. So there likely wouldn’t be a ton of change to a female Buzz’s design. But these artists decided to give it a shot, and I think female Buzz looks pretty cool! I like the idea of female Buzz having long curly hair. It’s a cute idea. And I love how the Mohamed Saad made this epic Female Buzz that’s fully decked out in her space suit. You can still tell she is a girl by her facial features, but you know she’s ready to get out there and fight evil.

8 This Demi-God Is Looking Fantastic

Via: cheburaskah.deviantart.com

For a while, Disney had fun doing several spin-off cartoons of their popular movies. And Hercules was no exception and had Hercules: The Animated Series. While the show does ignore the continuity of the movie (Hercules meets and interacts with Meg and Hades as a teenager instead of as a grown-up), the show was pretty entertaining. It really captured the more humorous elements of Greek mythology and how these gods would be interacting with each other and with mortals. If you wanted a good laugh and wanted to see some familiar characters and a few new fun ones, this series was the way to go. Plus, James Woods came back to do Hades, and this Hades is always a treat to watch.

This art piece is based on a scene in the Hercules movie, and it’s portraying an older Hercules than in the series, but it still looks amazing. I really like this artist’s style; it’s very unique and makes use of interesting textures. Female Hercules’ big blue eyes look incredible and male Megara looks awesome. It would be interesting if Hercules was a girl. Would Zeus still be proud of her and root for her? Would Phil even take her seriously when she asks him to train her? It’s hard to say, but it would be a fascinating concept.

7 This Little Monster Is Looking Great

Via: blackbeauty2245.deviantart.com, shikiariandrinight.deviantart.com

I don’t think anyone was prepared to like Lilo and Stitch as much as we did. And based on the premise, it seemed like a show that likely wouldn’t be very good. An alien crash lands on earth and gets adopted by a little Hawaiian girl. This could be really good or really bad. But in the case of Lilo and Stitch, it was amazing and it spawned a TV series called Lilo and Stitch: The Series that lasted for quite a while. During this series, the dynamic duo was seeking out Jumba’s other experiments that had been released in Hawaii. It was fun to see all the different experiments that Jumba created and their unique abilities. Plus, seeing Stitch interact with Lilo is always fun.

There technically was a female version of Stitch when Angel showed up, who was another one of Jumba’s experiments. She basically looked like Stitch, but pink. But a few artists have come up with their own versions of a female Stitch, and I like the results. It’s true that not much would change in female Stitch’s look, other than her body structure is a tad bit different and she’s wearing a flower. But she still looks pretty awesome. And Lilo as a boy is pretty cute. He would still be the oddball dork we all know and love.

6 She’s Still The Leader Of This Crazy Monkey Team

Via: kraziekazoo.deviantart.com

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go! was one of those shows that was rather weird, but also had a very interesting plot that worked surprisingly well, given the crazy subject material. The idea that a boy becomes the leader of this group of robot monkeys is seriously crazy, but the show took itself seriously enough that it ended up making a series that was rather heartwarming. It was strange, it was funny, and it was surprisingly intense. And Chiro was a pretty awesome character, having to learn about his new abilities and responsibilities. He had a lot to learn, but he definitely stepped up to the plate to take on some serious baddies.

And Chiro as a girl looks seriously awesome. I don’t think too much would change with female Chiro. She would totally be awesome as the leader of this crazy team. Her relationships with the monkeys may be different. Maybe she wouldn’t be as close to Antauri, or maybe she’d bond more with Nova. But no matter, what female Chiro would still be willing to step up and lead her monkey friends in battling those that wished to do evil and protect those that needed their help. She’d be an awesome hero.

5 This Couple Still Looks Very Sweet

Via: fruttistdar.deviantart.com

While Jeremy may have started out is just the object of Candace’s slightly obsessed affections, he does become a pretty entertaining character. The guy is a fairly chill dude, which melds well with Candace’s more high-strung nature. He’s understanding of Candace, and he likes her for who she is, no matter how crazy she may get sometimes. But it’s also fun to see him interacting with other people. I especially love the episode where he’s teaching both Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram how to play the guitar. You can tell that he thinks these guys are nut jobs, but he’s trying to be polite, and he’s not super fazed by them. Hey, as long as they’re paying him, right? Jeremy is just a good guy who’s patient and kind. I can see why Candace likes him.

Female Jeremy would probably still be a pretty chill person, though she may get flustered more easily.

So how would Jeremy look as a girl? Pretty nice, according to this artist! Her longer hair really suits her, and I like the skirt she’s wearing. Female Jeremy would probably still be a pretty chill person, though she may get flustered more easily. And I do like the male Candace in this art piece too. The slightly messy hair and tired look is pretty consistent with Candace’s nature. She’s often stressed out or freaking out over something, so I could see male Candace being the same way.

4 Don’t Mess With This Goddess Of Demise

Via: clara-hana.deviantart.com, ripushko.deviantart.com

When you think of the god of demise, you probably imagine this super intimidating guy who has all of this dark power and eyes of flames. Well, while Hades in the Hercules movie and animated series could definitely be intimidating, he actually gives off more of the used car salesman vibe, or a con man, and that’s surprisingly fitting. (And in Greek mythology, Hades was usually the god minding his own business, and Zeus was the one messing everything up.) Part of that was the amazing performance by James Woods. But half the reason we love Disney’s Hades is because while he’s this powerful god, he’s also incredibly hilarious. And that does change in the series.

Hades as a female is a fun idea, and a lot of artists have come up with their own versions of what a female Hades would look like. I like these two art pieces because they show two different sides to Hades. Both of them show her as this woman with pretty distinct features. You may not consider her conventionally attractive, which is an interesting interpretation. Plus, she just radiates power and sass in both of these pieces. Don’t make a deal with this goddess; she will mess you up if you cross her.

3 She Still Dreams Of Honey

Via: tenshi-yoru.deviantart.com

You can’t get more classic than Winnie the Pooh. I’m sure most of us grew up watching the adventures of our favorite honey-loving bear. And The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ended up being a pretty cute series. It’s got all the characters we know and love having new adventures. And the show did pretty well, lasting for four seasons. And of course, at the center of this series is Pooh Bear. You can’t help but love this little-stuffed bear. He has a big heart and a passion for food and he’s always fun to watch. But what would this lovable stuffed bear look like as a girl?

What’s interesting about this version of Winnie the Pooh is that it’s a female human version. That does make sense since it would be a little difficult to make Winnie the Pooh look like a girl. And this lady Pooh Bear is really cute! She’s still keeping the red shirt, but it looks great on her. You know that a female Winnie the Pooh would still be obsessed with honey and food, and I like that this artist included that. This version of Winnie the Pooh is very different but very sweet. Stay your lovely self, girl!

2 You Ain’t Never Had A Friend Like Her

Via: steemkr.com

I think many of us can agree that Genie was our favorite character in the movie Aladdin. He was so different from your average idea of a genie, and that’s what made him so likable. He wasn’t your usual trickster; he actually wanted to help Aladdin succeed and was even willing to save him when he was in danger. And in the Aladdin series, he’s still around to help out his friend to protect Agrabah. I think it’s cool that Aladdin and Genie became good friends. They’re both very different people, but they still look out for each other. And who wouldn’t want to be friends with this blue guy? But what would Genie look like if he was a she?

Considering Genie can take any shape or form, he technically could become a woman if he wanted to. (I think he has shape-shifted into women a couple of times at least, but it was more for comedic effect.) But it would be interesting to see Genie in a female form, and this artist did a fantastic job. She looks intriguing with a hint of danger. But you know a female Genie would be just as goofy and fun loving.

1 These Goofy Kids Are Looking Great

Via: vampiremeerkat.tumblr.com

What I like about the series Goof Troop was that it took a few fairly well-known characters like Goofy and Pete and put them in a more domestic setting. Goofy as a dad is rather adorable, and Pete’s family is a bit dysfunctional, but highly entertaining. This series was fun because we got to see all of these characters interacting in a fairly normal setting, but we still got some of Goofy’s crazy antics. Just because he’s a dad doesn’t mean he still doesn’t get into crazy situations. And the kids in this show are done pretty well. So how would these kids look if they were genderbent?

I could see female Max just having this wild mane of hair that she only tames every now and then.

According to this artist, pretty normal, actually. I think it’s cool that the artist kept the art style similar to the style of the show. Female Max and PJ look awesome. I like that female Max has a ton of hair; I could see her just having this wild mane of hair that she only tames every now and then. And I like that female PJ is still this big kid. The two would probably still get into all kinds of trouble and mischief, but you know at the end of the day, they’re still good kids.
