The upcoming free update and paid DLC content that is coming to Total War: Warhammer II will come with a significant performance upgrade, as players can expect to see up to a sixty-percent increase in the speed of enemy turns depending on their hardware.
The next DLC update for Total War: Warhammer II is called The Shadow & The Blade, which will add two legendary lords with their own individual factions: Malus Darkblade for Hag Graef of the Dark Elves and Deathmaster Snikch of Clan Eshin for the Skaven. The two paid DLC lords will be joined by a free one in the form of Repanse de Lyonesse for Bretonnia. Repanse is heavily inspired by Joan of Arc, who rode into battle bearing powerful magical relics, most notably the Sword of Lyonesse.
The lords of The Shadow & The Blade and their new units are not the main reason why fans should be excited for the next for Total War: Warhammer II, as the game will be receiving a major boost in performance. According to PC Invasion, the next update will speed up enemy turns by up to 60%, depending on both the player's PC specifications and the current game state.
One of the biggest issues that plagues all strategy games is the escalating time between turns over the course of a match. It's easy to become dissuaded from playing a lengthy game when it can take several minutes for the computer to finish the turns for every opponent. This becomes especially frustrating when the player is able to finish their turn quickly, leading to a situation where they spend more time waiting than playing.
The decrease in the time spent between turns will depend on different factors and it's possible that people playing the game on low-end machines might not see as much of a difference, but anything that can speed up the process of the enemy's turn is a welcome addition to the game.
The Shadow & The Blade DLC for Total War: Warhammer II will be available on December 12, 2019.
