Racing games are often tight-knit and intensive, especially when playing in a competitive manner, but what happens with those quick turns and jumps when you suddenly can't see them anymore? That's what Wirtual has done, beating Trackmania blindfolded.
"When I started this project," Wirtual opens, "I had no idea it would be the most difficult challenge I've ever done in Trackmania, but after 120 hours - I finally managed to do it!"
What's more, he did it live, wearing a blindfold for upward of 12 hours at a time. "He lost it, though," one viewer comments, "People who watched the stream can confirm." Nonetheless, he pulled through and even said that it was one of the most joyous moments in his life.
However, Wirtual isn't content with beating Trackmania blindfolded in 120 hours - he's now attempting to speedrun the first 15 tracks the same way. Impressively, in that regard, he's down to 23 minutes. So, not only is he the first to beat Trackmania without his sight but now, he's the first to speedrun it blindfolded.
This blindfold run has been going on for a couple of months now, and with it finally, at its conclusion, perhaps more players will try to beat that 120-hour record, but that's a time sink and an investment, to say the least, and one that will no doubt sting to lose. Still, beating the game blindfolded - time beaten or not - is a huge accomplishment and one that many self-profess to have no inclination to even attempt.122
