Apex Legends Season 3 is here, and it's time to jump on hype train... carefully.

There's a lot to unpack with the new season. But one big new addition is the new map, and with that, a new cargo train.

The train functions a bit like the supply ship back in Kings Canyon (press F to pay respects). It's a moving vehicle loaded with loot, although the train differs in that it requires players to open crates and chase each other across train cars until they either get thirsted by other players or they jump off.

Good thing there's no fall damage in Apex Legends.

Respawn even gave fans a preview of the train in its trailer for Apex Legends Season 3.

So of course, the question on everyone's mind is: What happens when a player gets hit by the train?

Well, the short answer is...

They die.

But they don't just die. They really, really die.

As in, they get CRUSHED.

That's 1000 damage in a game where the most damage a player can possibly sustain is 200.

Put another way, that's four Kraber headshots of damage. And, as Apex Legends players know, the Kraber is a one-shot kill. So, that's four one-shot kills worth of death.

Obviously, Respawn wants to make sure players know they're super freakin' dead.

Not only that, but if they're on the train when they die, it also carries their death boxes away.

So, to reiterate, Apex Legends doesn't have fall damage. But it definitely has train damage.

Unfortunately, some players found this out the hard way.

Twitch streamer LuluLuvely tweeted her experience with the new map's train.

Indeed it can, Lulu.

Blackbeard, who manages social media for 100 Thieves, shared a train PSA as well.

A Twitter user named Kuraisuta shared their experience trying to use the game's wall-climb mechanic on the train.

In sum, Apex Legends players who want to loot on the game's train should be very careful in how they approach it.

But being careful doesn't mean players have to miss it, even if they're not in prime position to hitch a ride. Those playing as Pathfinder can try Twitter user Abdulaziz251sa's strategy.

Apex Legends Season 3 launched on Oct. 1 and includes a new map, a new Battle Pass and a new character, Crypto.
