Transformers Reactivate was announced at The Game Awards earlier this month, giving us a short CG trailer depicting a world devastated by an unknown alien force. It looks like a much grittier Transformers title but, outside of the fact it will be a 1-4 players online action game, we don't know much else about it.However, we now have our first look at an older version of Transformers Reactivate thanks to a set of in-game screenshots that have been shared by Transformers content creator DpzLuna on Twitter. From these screenshots, we've been given a glimpse of everything from map UI to CGI renders of certain Autobots like Optimus Prime. It's also unclear whether this is leaked info, as DpzLuna seems to be tagging developers directly in every tweet.If you're unaware, Transformers Reactivate was previously titled Transformers Rise and was being developed by Certain Affinity before it was renamed and given to Splash Damage instead. These screenshots are from the game when it was developed under Certain Affinity, meaning everything that DpzLuna has shared could be changed, and doesn't necessarily represent the final product.
From the screenshots, we can see characters like Bumblebee, Shockwave, Soundwave, and a whole bunch more were going to be playable, although the roster at the moment is currently unknown. It dooes imply that the Autobots and Decepticons will be working together in Reactivate though, unless Splash Damage has dramatically shifted the plot of the game after it took control.
As for when we get our hands on Transformers Reactivate, we don't have a release window just yet, but a closed beta is planned at some point in 2023. If you want the chance to check the game out early, you can sign up for the beta here.
