Triangle Strategy strikes a balance of traditional TRPG battles and mechanics while completely throwing the notion of side quests out the window. Instead, who you gain as an ally depends on your diplomatic skill with the Conviction System, which you build or destroy with your conversational skill as well as your choices throughout the game.

10 Completing The Cat Chronicles

Cat Triangle Strategy filling out the cat chronicles reveals a secret about cats

Hidden around the world in Triangle Strategy are cats. Not magical cats or even talking cats, just your normal, meow-for-sustenance furry cat. These felines however have a secret to share once you find all of them. The catch is, that you won't be able to get them all in your first playthrough, as some are locked off depending on choices you made throughout the game.

Once you do find all nine of them, you will get a prize for your efforts: A well-crafted ode to the human specimen and his foolishness. It doesn't add to the story or do anything for that matter, but it gives you a deeper look into the mindset of this world's feline rulers and how lucky humanity is to be looked over by fluffy overlords.

9 Avlora And Cordelia

Avlora Triangle Strategy speaking to princess cordelia in a flashback

Relationships in Triangle Strategy are complex and generally come from a place of trauma and trying to hold onto hope. Surrounded by constant suffering makes you want to reach out and grab on to something, anything, that gives any semblance of peace, seeking it out in the unlikeliest of places. Avlora, the murderer of Prince Frani, grows a genuine bond with Cordelia, his younger sister, and the one being used as a puppet queen. Avlora sees a lot of herself in Cordelia, growing from someone struggling to stand up for themselves, to a strong and assertive queen.

There is something to be admired in Cordelia's conviction, and it is the driving force of Avlora seeking out redemption for the atrocious acts she committed against the people of Glenbrook. You're only able to see this play out if you are going for the golden route, so it's understandable if you missed this story the first time around.

8 Groma And Her Past

Groma Traingle Strategy she knocks them out fast so they run

Decades have passed since the great warrior from Aesfrost put down her knuckles and searched for meaning in her life, after rising through the ranks of the military and becoming widely known as 'Ironfist'. Her decision to leave the military came after attacking a town and setting it aflame, not knowing that the innocent Roselle was locked inside the gaol (jail) until it was too late.

It ate her to her core, and the guilt led her to quit the army and travel the world searching for peace. It wasn't until she joined Serenoa and found the surviving Roselle did she realize that those she thought were lost all those years ago were saved by an anonymous soul that believed that all people were born equal and shouldn't have to die because of discrimination. Her journey of redemption is a beautiful one, and one of the happier endings, all things considered.

7 Hughette's Feelings

Hughette Triangle Strategy with her hawk talking to a soldier

Starting as a simple hawk trainer, Hughette had her life saved by Prince Roland himself. She had been attacked by a robber and thought herself dead, until Prince Roland, led to her by her hawk companion, saved her with a quick thrust of his spear. From that moment, Hughette decided to dedicate her life to protecting him by becoming a knight and his bodyguard.

She has proven herself to be loyal and a powerful ally. She also harbors a secret that (she thinks) no one else knows: she fell in love with the prince. What started as simple admiration and royal duty developed into love. She hopes that one day they will be able to cast off their titles and courtesies to fly together in the sky, if only for a fleeting moment.

6 Julio And His Honor

Julio Triangle Strategy introduces himself to lord serenoa

Julio Wrightman isn't a fool, nor is he someone who takes advantage of those in need. He joins the party after finding out that the former lord of Glenbrook, Patriatte Konsar, has been skimming off the books and attempts to out him, forcing him to flee from an attack and find refuge within Serenoa's camp.

Luckily, Serenoa proved to Julio that he was worth following when Julio outed a noble trying to use Lord Serenoa's name to procure food to present to the Lord to curry favor. Serenoa saw this act of shrewd act on Julio's part and told him that he did the right thing, easily earning Julio's respect and loyalty. Whether noble or commoner, all wrongdoers get the smoke from Julio.

5 Lionel Will Grind For His Bag

Triangle Strategy Lionel explains why he doesn't need help when he really does

If there is coin to be had, Lionel is putting his hand out. See, the business has been struggling due to the three-way war or Norzelia, the continent Triangle Strategy takes place on, so Lionel decides to throw himself with Serenoa and his team to fill his pockets. There is nothing that Lionel won't do to this end, including scamming a saltmonger who is skimming profits off the top. This shrewdness tends to get Lionel into trouble, but he usually has no issue holding his own in combat.

4 Medina The Medic

Medina Triangle Strategy explains why everyone needs healing

With a name more than a little on the nose, Medina only wishes to help those in need. An incident in Hyzante where she was told not to treat a Rosellan and instead treat a follower of the faith, she felt that the Rosellan's death that followed was on her hands.

Growing frustrated with the order of things in the church, Medina fled and sought out House Wolffort to serve instead, knowing that the house was kind to all people, including the Rosellans. Her story is one of the more straightforward ones, as she only has one true objective. However, she shows true grit and determination in saving all that she can, even if they are the enemy. Because to her, every life is important.

3 He Has A Lot Of Narve

Narve Triangle Strategy shows off his green arcane magic

Kids in JRPGs tend to have a precocious personality, and Narve isn't much different. He's bold enough to walk straight up to House Wolffort's encampment to demand he be put to use. He is the (supposedly) last disciple and grandson of Archmage Grandante, a powerful Arcane user whose name has been lost in current arcane history.

What does Narve want once he joins house Wolffort? To spread the truth about his grandfather of course, as it's learned that the Hyzantian church scrubbed all mention and memory from the arcane records he wrote because the elder Gradante refused to do the nefarious research the church wanted him to. Sadly, he died in exile, leaving his grandson alone. Narve happily carries out his mission while saving the continent from endless war.

2 The Girl The War Forgot

Piccoletta Triangle Strategy juggles for sad kids in the middle of screen

Piccoletta has a tragic story that she hides behind her smile and juggling. An orphan, Piccoletta had been raised by the circus troupe she travelled with. They were made up of people from all over, outside all conflicts each country has going on. One day though, that was taken away when Aesfrost attacked Glenbrook and the circus ringleader had been commanded to join in the war efforts.

The circus, without its leader, broke up and each member returned to their country of origin. Poor Piccoletta however, had nowhere to go until she was found by Lord Serenoa and company. She refuses to see kids sad and does everything she can to make them smile, understanding the feelings of loss they carry like hers.

1 Mysterious Bringer Of Storms

Ezana Triangle Strategy summons the rain on the map

Ezana is a woman of mystery. She travels the lands, bringing rain and healing to arid and dehydrated lands. As a shamaness, she claims she must bring rain wherever it is needed. She ends up in Glenbrook during a drought and gives them rain while Lord Serenoa watches. After the rain comes, he asks her to join his army, as she could be formidable on the field.

She left her homeland of Hyzante after being found a witch due to her talent for bringing rain. She and her lover decided to leave the country before they were tried and executed. Now she carries her anger and grief against Hyzante and wishes for their downfall in blood.
