Fortunately, there are plenty of tips and tricks that will help you survive longer, gather more resources, and deal more damage to any enemies that you come across. This guide will cover some tips and tricks while answering some frequently asked questions that beginners generally have about Tribes of Midgard.

What Are Worksites In Tribes Of Midgard?

Tribes of Midgard Village

Worksites are structures that you will find around your village in Tribes of Midgard. There are three types of worksite: Farm, Quarry, and Lumberyard.

When you start a new world, the worksites are destroyed and need repairing. To repair a worksite, interact with it and donate the following resources:

  • 600 Souls
  • 12 Wooden Boards
  • 9 Cut Stone
  • 6 Wrought Iron

The resources required are the same for each worksite, so you will need to gather the above items three times if you want to repair all three sites.

When a worksite has been repaired, it will automatically put resources into your War Chest (a communal chest in the village). For example, the Lumbermill will transfer wood, branches, and other related materials into your chest.

The Quarry will gather stone, ore, and other resources, whilst the Farm will gather ingredients for potions and other related items.

It is worth noting that worksites do not only produce raw resources. They will also generate refined materials such as Cut Stone, Wooden Planks, and Wrought Iron.

Do You Need To Craft Arrows In Tribes Of Midgard?

With so many swords, axes, and hammers available in Tribes of Midgard, it's no wonder that melee seems to be the preference in combat for most. However, bows are also formidable weapons that are simpler than you might expect.

If you are considering using a bow, you might be surprised to learn that you do not need to craft arrows to deal damage. Instead, your character will have an unlimited pool of basic arrows that will deal a small amount of damage to foes.

If you want to deal more damage with your bow, you can craft arrows at the Tinkerer merchant in the village. They have a range of ammo types available, including explosive, fire, and ice arrows. These are much better than the regular basic arrows, but they are not necessary.

How To Defeat Jotnar In Tribes Of Midgard

Jotnar will spawn in Midgard fairly regularly. You should expect to fight one of these towering elemental behemoths every few days in your world. They are extremely powerful, with even the lowest level Jotunn having over 40,000 HP.

Although your instincts may kick in and tell you to run, this is the worst idea. The Jotunn will slowly trudge across Midgard as it travels to your village. When it arrives, fiery destruction won't be far behind.

Instead, you need to start preparing as soon as you start a new world. There are some crucial tasks that you should aim to complete within the first few days:

  • Build gates for your village
  • Construct archer towers around the gates
  • Upgrade your weapons and armor
  • Earn some skill points and invest them into a class

If you can complete all of the above before the first Jotunn arrives at your village, you are progressing well. With the above completed, you could venture out into Midgard and deal some early damage to the Jotunn whilst it travels. This is a great idea, especially if you are playing with friends.

However, if you are playing alone, you will probably want the extra firepower from your archer towers in the village. Fortunately, these do not require crafted arrows. They use basic arrows by default, like your bow. Wait for the Jotunn to get close to your village and then close your gates and start dealing damage.

If you are busy slaying enemies and leveling up in Tribes of Midgard, don't forget to select a class. This is not chosen for you and cannot be selected in the main menu outside of a world.

To choose a class, you need to start a new world. When you spawn, pause the game and go to the Blessings tab. There, you will see all of the classes, including those that you have not yet unlocked.

If you select a class, you can bind it to your character. This allows you to access the skills and perks related to that class, which you can buy using skill points.

To earn skill points, you need to level up in a world. This is the level for the character in your world, rather than the season level for your account on Tribes of Midgard. Each time your character levels up, you will earn a new skill point which you can invest into a class perk.

Can You Recover Lost Souls In Tribes Of Midgard?

Souls are the key to everything in Tribes of Midgard. Repairing gear? You'll need Souls. Fortifying your village? Souls. Repairing worksites? You get the picture. Souls are important, so you might be eager to collect them in abundance.

Almost every activity will reward you with Souls. Killing enemies, completing quests, and gathering resources will all give you Souls. However, upon death, you'll lose them all. That's right, you'll find yourself back at zero. Such is the nature of roguelites.

After dying, you cannot recover lost Souls. You can, of course, collect more, but you won't get any Souls back if you die.

Is Tribes Of Midgard Harder Solo?

Generally, Tribes of Midgard is a multiplayer title. You will enter a world with nine other players and work together to protect the Seed of Yggdrasil and defeat Fenrir, the Saga Boss.

However, you can play Saga mode as a solo player. It states on the main menu that difficulty scaling is implemented, so enemies should be weaker if you are playing solo. However, it is still extremely difficult.

Tribes of Midgard can definitely be a great experience when played solo, as you can work on your own objectives without the confusion of nine other players running around. However, you will certainly lack the range of skills and abilities offered by a group of 10 players using different classes.
