TSM Complete Starting LCS Roster With Kobbe Signing

TSM have signed former Splyce AD carry Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup, along with jungler Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett and support Vincent "Biofrost" Wang.

Team SoloMid have announced the rest of their starting League of Legends Championship Series roster ahead of the upcoming 2020 season, officially signing AD carry Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup to the team. The lineup had been stripped down to just two players this offseason, as only top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik and mid laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg were confirmed to remain with the squad.

Danish AD carry Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup makes the move to North America from European squad Splyce. Kobbe made his European LCS debut in 2016 under the Splyce banner, the team garnering results that earned them a spot in that year’s World Championship. They were unable to make it past the group stage. The 2017 EU LCS season brought mid-range results for Splyce as they finished 5-6th in both Spring and Summer. A fourth place finish at the Regional Final meant that they failed to qualify for Worlds. Splyce found similar results in 2018, again not qualifying for Worlds with a third place Regional Final finish.

2019 started out at a familiar pace, Kobbe and co. placing fourth in LEC Spring and later 5-6th in Summer. Their runner-up finish at the Regional Final earned them a ticket to the 2019 World Championship. As Europe’s third seed, Splyce topped their play-in group to advance to the group stage. The squad then took the second seed from their group, securing a spot in the play-offs. Their Worlds run ended with a 1-3 loss to SK Telecom T1 in the quarter-finals.

Kobbe now signs with TSM in his first venture to the North American region. He takes over the AD carry as Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen transfers to Cloud9. Joining Kobbe on the new-and-improved TSM roster is jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, who joins after a stint with OpTic Gaming Academy. Dardoch has previously competed on Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, and Echo Fox, among others. He presumably takes over the starting jungler position from Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham. In additional roster changes, Vincent “Biofrost” Wang has made a return to Team SoloMid after two years. In a trade with Counter Logic Gaming, Biofrost replaces Andy “Smoothie” Ta on the active TSM roster.

The new TSM League of Legends roster will debut in the 2020 LCS season.
