A psychic Twitch streamer riled up the Reddit lynch mob this week during a Tarot card reading when he seemed to suggest a viewer should consider leaving her husband.  The streamer, Antphrodite, is a partnered Twitch streamer and only one of many psychics streaming in the Just Chatting category on Twitch.

Antphrodite came under fire recently during a reading for one of his viewers.  While flipping cards over he remarked that many of them were "reversed," or upside-down, which he explains was cause for concern.  This on its own is fairly common psychic nonsense, but once Reddit got a hold of the clip, things, as they often do, escalated quickly.

You probably haven't heard of Psychic Twitch before, but it's fairly self-explanatory: these streamers use horoscopes, Tarot cards, mentalism, and other buffoonery to examine the lives of the person they are reading and impart "wisdom" and "advice" to the lost souls that patron them.

Antphrodite stands out both in that he is somewhat popular, with over 20,000 followers, and because he is the self-proclaimed "Pop Culture Psychic," providing unrequested readings for the likes of ProJared, Jenna Marbles, and Britney Spears.  Antphrodite also provides readings for his viewers of course, and it was during one such reading that the streamer went too far and shared some pretty questionable insights.

In the clip, Antphrodite flips some cards over and announces, "I'm concerned. Listen to me, I'm not judging your relationship, I'm not going to tell you what to do. What I am going to tell you is that I'm concerned about this person not wanting the best for you regardless of what they say. I'm also worried about their potential impact, not only on you, but those around them. It seems like they're willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want, I don't like that energy."

Now, clearly, it would take a lot intimate knowledge about someone's relationship to make a determination like this. Antphrodite doesn't have that. All he has is some cards and a lot of practice at "reading" them for any given situation. The clip made it to Reddit with the title, "antphrodite hinting a woman should end a marriage because of what a bunch of shuffled cards say, disgusting," and let's just say, people were not amused.

The prevailing theme between the comments was that Antphrodite is a scammer and should not be allowed to stream on Twitch, with one user saying, "This should be against ToS," and another saying, "He literally told someone who believes every word he says that she cant trust her husband. What a piece of s***, get this guy off the platform."

Psychics are undoubtedly some of the most mocked and reviled personalities in the media, but there's no denying that people love throwing money at them. Though controversial, it wouldn't appear that what Antphrodite does actually violates any of the Twitch terms of service. That will never stop the Reddit army from demanding his head anyway.
