Twitch streamer Amouranth has been in the news since May for a number of reasons. While past headlines have revolved around her antics on Twitch, this latest one is a bit more personal. It seems that somebody allegedly tried to start a fire close to her house; the authorities suspect arson.

Back in May, Twitch was dealing with the Hot Tub Meta, which saw a number of streamers, including Amouranth, stream while sitting in a hot tub in their swimming suits. While opinions were divided on the matter, she did end up having her ad revenue temporarily suspended. Things eventually worked out though, with Twitch adding a new category called ‘Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches’.

Later in June, Amouranth, Indiefoxx, and other popular streamers found themselves in hot water again thanks to a weird new form of ASMR which involved loudly licking and even farting into a headset. The streamers received a lot of online and offline flak for their strange experiments, but it seems this time someone took it too far.

In a series of tweets, the streamer explained that there was a fire along the side of her house, next to where the trash cans were kept. While the cause was still not determined, the investigators strongly suggest that it was arson. “They are reviewing surveillance footage, neighbors surveillance footage and possibly other videos adjacent to the area to try and catch the potential suspect,” she tweeted.

Following tweets went on to tell of how this wasn’t the first time she was targeted like this. Back in 2020, somebody tried to lob firecrackers at her house under the guise of Fourth of July celebrations. The culprit was caught red handed before something drastic happened and was arrested. She also mentioned how she faces “garden variety of swatting” on a weekly basis.

Amouranth took the opportunity to talk about how streamers can safeguard themselves from these potentially life threatening situations. She suggested getting to know the local law enforcement representatives and forming a rapport with them. Setting up some kind of safe word would also help the authorities recognize a real threat as opposed to a hoax.

She concluded saying that she and her fur babies were all okay.
