Ubisoft will soon be bidding farewell to the longest running entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Valhalla. The base game was released on November 10, 2020 and followed up with a substantial amount of DLC including Wrath of the Druids, The Siege of Paris, and most recently Dawn of Ragnarok. The journey of the player character, Eivor, is going to be coming to a close in The Last Chapter, releasing at some point in the coming months. The Last Chapter will be free for all current owners of the game.“Since launch, we’ve continued to create new and exciting content,” Game Director at Ubisoft Gareth Glover said in the most recent Ubisoft Forward. “We’ve already released new game modes and activities into the world of Valhalla such as River Raids, Tombs of the Fallen, Mastery Challenges, and most recently the rogue-lite The Forgotten Saga. Today, I’m excited to announce that in a few months time, we will also be launching The Last Chapter.”RELATED: Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn Of Ragnarok Is Right To Lean Into The AbsurdUbisoft revealed a trailer alongside the announcement. “Odin,” Eivor can be heard saying. “I feel you close. An uproar of memories stretching far into the past. I have done all I can for my people. It is time to say goodbye. Set forth for distant shores and new adventures.”The developer has not yet revealed a release date, listing the DLC as “coming soon.” As for the story, the trailer showed only a few frames worth of content, but Eivor can be seen strategizing in front of a map and leaving Ravensthorpe on foot.

“The Last Chapter is a free quest which nicely ties up some of the storylines established throughout the game,” Glover explained. “We’ll see Eivor reunite with some key characters including some influential historical ones. We can’t wait for you to experience it.”
