Ubisoft will postpone Ghost Recon Frontline's closed test. The decision comes only a day before, on October 14, when Ubisoft was scheduled to open its doors on a limited basis to its upcoming battle royale.

Just over a week ago, Ubisoft revealed the next title in the Tom Clancy series during an anniversary event, but the news didn't go over particularly well. Frontline's announcement trailer is still sitting with a nasty ratio of likes-to-dislikes, almost 4,000 and 17,000 respectively at the time of writing. Despite the backlash around Ubisoft's decision to add a battle royale to the Ghost Recon library, its brand director Stefan Marinescu said it's "very important to understand how [Frontline is] different in many ways."

For now, the closed test for Frontline is delayed indefinitely, as Ubisoft has provided no further details or even a vague timeframe for when you can expect to jump in. In an image uploaded to the official Twitter account, Ubisoft writes, "We have decided it is best to postpone the Closed Test for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Frontline. The development team is dedicated to creating the best experience possible. We'll share details on the new date for the Closed Test as soon as we can. Thank you for your ongoing support."

Early this month, Ubisoft celebrated 20 years of the Tom Clancy Ghost Recon series. The broadcasted debuted first looks at Frontline, detailing how the battle royale will be a free-to-play shooter that pits over 100 players against each other. Frontline is said to also host different game modes but only shared Expedition during the broadcast, where teams of three scout for intel in a race to be extracted from Drakemoor Island.
