The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was announced back in September 2020, but still hasn’t seen the light of day. Multiple delays, changing development teams, and a lack of communication from Ubisoft are the key reasons that one could cite for the seemingly indefinite delay. However, it appears that Ubisoft hasn’t given up on it just yet.In an announcement on Twitter, Ubisoft revealed a blog page for the Prince of Persia remake which answers all of the questions that fans could possibly have about its ongoing development. Unsurprisingly, the blog literally contains three basic FAQs that we probably already predicted.RELATED: Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Shouldn’t Be This Hard To RemakeThe most notable among them is that Ubisoft has been emphasizing that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is “not canceled”. It also mentions that there still isn’t a release date in place which is why all of the preorders were canceled and refunded. Finally, Ubisoft said that no other Prince of Persia remakes are in the works, at least currently.

Prince of Persia is one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time and in many respects paved the way for Ubisoft’s later Assassin’s Creed titles. The remake in question was originally being developed by the company's India studios based in Mumbai and Pune, but has been delayed twice in nine months, the second one being indefinite. Shortly after, Ubisoft announced a 2022 release window for the game, but in May of this year, it was announced that Ubisoft Montreal would be taking over development of the title.

An investigative report by our own Vaspaan Dastoor mentioned what exactly happened behind the scenes at Ubisoft’s India studios which eventually led to the project being handed over to the Montreal team. Hopefully we'll soon have more updates on the game.
