Ubisoft is joining other gaming industry figures in assisting Ukraine in the wake of Russia's invasion. The company has announced numerous measures it will be putting in place to assist its workers in the nation, including financial support, and housing for anyone who has been displaced by the attacks.

Salaries are being paid in advance, to mitigate any issues with banking as a result of the conflict. Every member of staff is also receiving a bonus, as many Ukrainians are finding themselves having to leave their homes in search of safer accommodation.

Ubisoft first announced these emergency measures on Twitter, revealing that it had drafted plans to assist its Ukrainian team in the event of armed conflict.

"All our thoughts are with our teams and their loved ones in Ukraine", the statement reads. "Over the past months, we have been closely monitoring the situation and taken measures to accompany them in the best possible way, by helping to protect their safety and providing financial support.

"In light of the dramatic escalation, we are fully mobilized to continue to provide them with additional assistance. Their safety is our primary concern."

A representative of Ubisoft later explained to The Loadout what these plans will look like. "Last week, we recommended our employees take shelter in a place they consider safe", the source says. "Ubisoft has provided all team members in Ukraine with additional funds to help them cover exceptional costs, such as those related to their travel and relocation

“Ubisoft is providing housing in neighbouring countries where teams and their families can take shelter if they wish and are able to do so. To ensure we stay closely connected with all teams, we have set up hotlines to respond to their questions and needs and have put in place an emergency communication system should infrastructures grow unstable."
