The Ultimate Gamer tournament will crown the title of "Best Gamer in the World" to the winner of a multi-genre game tournament that you can enter for free.

"Best Gamer in the World" is a title that gets thrown around a lot, but not anymore. The Ultimate Gamer tournament has registered it as a trademark, so now only they get to decide who's the best gamer. And to find out, they're hosting a free online tournament to determine just who the best gamer is.

Ultimate Gamer isn't going to be like most esports tournaments that stick with a single game. Ultimate Gamer doesn't even stick with a single genre! In order to win, competitors will have to be the best in four different genres, including MOBAs, Battle Royale games, first-person shooters, and Fighters.

Participants must first register online by filling out a form and selecting at least one of the four genres. Open qualifiers begin August 1 and will go on for four weeks. At the end, the top 3,500 players will advance to the Major Online Challenge where everyone now has to compete in all four genres. After another four-week-long tournament, the top 70 qualifiers will move on to the Live Worldwide Championship to compete for the top prize of $1 million.

To keep things interesting, 30 more players will be added to the mix that includes invited personalities and wildcard qualifiers. That means the finals will have 100 players in total.
