Ever since the PS3 days, Uncharted has been one of Sony's biggest exclusive franchises. A video game version of a Hollywood blockbuster, the series has showcased lovable characters, funny dialogue, and some of gaming's best-ever cinematic set-pieces. That's not to mention the satisfying gunplay and smooth climbing mechanics that have helped every installment rank among the most beloved action-adventure games out there.

Although this list isn't about how good Uncharted is, it's about the memes the series has been the subject of, and there are a lot of them. We've searched the internet for the best possible ones we could find and put them into this list for you to enjoy.

10 Nathan Drake Has Ethics

The early part of Uncharted 2 is a morally questionable one for Nathan Drake. Firstly he burgles a museum, which seems a lot more unethical than taking treasures from centuries-old abandoned ruins.

Then during the burglary, despite previously demanding that they don't use firearms on the guards, he throws an innocent one off the roof while Flynn jokes about it. While yes, the guy falls into water, Drake didn't know he could swim, and he could've easier hit something on the way down. The annoying thing is, if he wasn't going to commit to his 'no harming guards' rule, he could've given us guns as it would've made the section a lot easier.

9 The Naughty Dog Gaming Universe

One of the most memorable moments in Uncharted 4 was when Drake (a.k.a. the player) and Elena sat down and played Crash Bandicoot. Xzibit comprehensively explains the developers' thought process in this meme.

The scene makes you wonder what could happen in Naughty Dog's future games. Could there be a scene in the next Last Of Us title where Ellie plays this moment in Uncharted 4? So she would be controlling Drake, who at the time would be controlling Crash, and the player would be effectively playing three games at once?? It's highly unlikely, as it would be very out of character for The Last Of Us, but just think of the memes the moment would inspire.

8 'Charted Drake's Fortune' Doesn't Sound As Good

This is the sort of meme that makes you rethink the whole franchise. Think of how many moments in the series involve Nathan Drake following a map he either found or was given.

The name Uncharted would be better suited to a game where you play as an adventurer whose goal is to travel around and discover new islands. In all seriousness, the title likely derives from the areas Drake finds that aren't on the maps, yet it's still funny to think about how big of a role charted maps play in a series called Uncharted.

7 Callback Or Coincidence?

Another Naughty Dog link here as a scene from Uncharted 4 is very reminiscent of the iconic opening to Crash Bandicoot. It's unclear whether this was just a funny coincidence or a nice little easter egg that Naughty Dog slipped in for long term fans of the developer.

Either way, it would've been hilarious to see more Crash sections recreated in Uncharted, imagine seeing Drake smashing up and down between two boxes collecting apples or riding a high-speed hog through an entire level. It certainly could've been useful to have Aku Aku protecting Drake during certain parts of Uncharted 4.

6 The Console War Will Never End

They'll likely never come a time when fans of one console don't take shots at fans of another. When it comes to Uncharted 4, PS4 players get the bragging rights, as they're the only ones that get to experience this outstanding game. The game's exclusivity is clearly something the creator of this meme wanted to brag about.

Although the victory was probably short-lived since fans could've fired back with memes gloating about their own favorite system's best exclusive titles, which is the primary reason why the title of this entry remains true.

5 Move Aside Krillin

Early in Uncharted 2, there's a twist where Flynn turns on Drake and gets him captured by the authorities. However, it is during the event's shadow puppet recreation that the truly important scene takes place.

Instead of Flynn firing his gun to get the guards to know about Drakes whereabouts, Shadow Puppet Drake directly shoots and kills his former Shadow Puppet friend. Then the show gets cut off seconds later, so who knows if Shadow Puppet Drake ever came to terms with putting down his old ally. As the meme hilariously points out, the scene deserved a place on WatchMojo's Saddest Anime Death's list.

4 Not Every Game Can Revolutionize A Genre

When Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was released, it drew immediate comparisons to the Tomb Raider series due to their similarities in gameplay, narrative, and overall tone. Both fanbases have been constantly at odds ever since, claiming their preferred action-adventure series is the superior one.

This meme shows that those fans have been overlooking a certain title in the form of the Indiana Jones LEGO game. Maybe they're too afraid of the backlash they'd receive by taking shots at the juggernaut of the genre, or perhaps they just accept that Indy's LEGO adventure is the king of treasure hunting games.

3 Modern Day Adventurers Are Oustanding

A classic example of video game logic is identified in this meme. Expert adventurer Nathan Drake uses all of his resources, knowledge, and parkour skills to find and attain access to the most hidden areas in the world. Only for a bunch of his much less knowledgeable enemies to also find it immediately afterward.

Either older treasure hunters who couldn't ever find these lost temples/tombs/cities were idiots, or Drake just keeps leading the villains to these sacred places. Thankfully this does happen though because think of how boring it would be to just stroll out of these places with nothing happening.

2 Hollywood Tough Guys

When the news broke about Tom Holland playing Nathan Drake in the long-rumored Uncharted film, it influenced a whole host of memes. Even though it was announced that Holland is going to play a young version of the iconic character, that didn't stop people making fun of the age and/or size of the actor playing Drake.

This meme might be onto something though, as even the most die-hard God Of War fans have to admit that a part of them would like to see Michael Cera in full Kratos gear just because of the hilarious visual it would bring.

1 Sorry KH Fans

People who have never played a Kingdom Hearts' game may be surprised to know how accurate this meme is. When you see Micky Mouse and Goofy in a game, you don't expect a deep and confusing narrative, but that's exactly what Kingdom Hearts has.

Although, Kingdom Hearts' fans will call the narrative 'complex' instead of confusing. However you label it, there's no denying that it has made many players feel like Drake does in this meme. Now, if only we could see more of the Nathan Drake starting to understand things meme, as it is hilarious.
