The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is made up of the last two Uncharted games released on the PS4, namely Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. This is actually the second collection of Uncharted games to be released by Naughty Dog since the series debuted on the PS3 in 2007.

The first was the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection which was released on the PS4. It included enhanced versions of the first three games in the series, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Much like that release, this one also promises improvements like visual enhancements and faster frame rates across its two games. But before you jump into its buttery-smooth gameplay, here are a few beginner tips to help you keep those mercenaries at bay.

5 Choose Your Preferred Graphical Mode Wisely

One of the biggest selling points of the Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection is the improved visuals and frame rates that can be enjoyed across both games. There are a total of three graphical to choose from, and selecting the right one should go a long way in enhancing your gameplay experience.

The Fidelity Mode renders the game at a locked 4K resolution with a capped frame rate of 30fps. This is the ideal setting for anyone that prefers a more cinematic experience overall. For those who would like more fluid gameplay without sacrificing too much on the visuals, there's a Performance Mode which renders the game at an upscaled 4K resolution, with the frame rate bumped to 60fps. Lastly, we have the Performance+ mode, which drops the resolution down to 1080p but targets a frame rate of 120fps. This mode works best if you have a TV that supports 120Hz, and you don't mind taking a hit to overall clarity.

4 Pick The Right Difficulty

The Uncharted games have always offered a nice range of difficulty options, catering to all types of players, from the super casual to the dedicated completionists. These range from Very Easy/Explorer, to Very Hard/Brutal.

Players returning to the two games in the Uncharted: The Legacy Collection might be tempted to immediately beeline towards one of the higher difficulty options. But such players still need to be mindful of just how much of a challenge these will pose. Anyone just looking to sit back and enjoy the story, might want to stick to one of the lower difficulty settings. While those still looking for a bit of a challenge but not at the expense of enjoying the flow of the story should be happy with the Normal difficulty.

3 Loot Enemy Corpses

Throughout your time with both games in the Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection, you'll be engaging in shootouts with a lot of mercenaries and enemy forces. To come out ahead in these scenarios, you'll not only need to make use of the game's cover mechanics, but you'll also need to be mindful of the amount of ammunition you have on you.

One way to ensure you never run out of bullets when you need them the most is by looting all enemy corpses after gunfights. Chances are you'll be able to get more than enough ammo to make up for any you've just expended. It is also a cool way of getting more powerful weapons to use in subsequent enemy encounters, so keep an eye out for those as well.

2 Use Stealth Whenever Possible

The Uncharted games are known for their heavy focus on set-piece action, moments where the screen is filled with explosive gunfights or death-defying leaps across crumbling platforms. And the same is certainly true in both games of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. They have some of the very best gunfights seen throughout the entire series, even rivaling the Nepal section from Uncharted 2.

But while it is possible to steamroll your way through the entire game going guns blazing, some certain sections are better off approached stealthily. This not only helps you conserve ammo, but it also lets you see some cool stealth takedown animations and ledge pulls you wouldn't get to see otherwise.

1 Venture Off The Beaten Path

Games like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy can often feel linear by design, with your next objective typically clearly marked out and useful visual cues pointing you in the right direction. But what these games do not tell you though is the wealth of secrets and treasures that await those willing to spend some time exploring the various side paths and hidden caves.

For anyone hoping to 100 percent complete the games, this is a must since you'll definitely need to take the time to find all the hidden treasure, journal notes, and journal entries. The latter in particular has the added bonus of helping to flesh out the world, so taking the time to find them should reward you with an enriched experience.
