Uncharted 4 is, so far, the end of Nathan Drake's journey. The series was not done after that, however. 2017 saw the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which stars Chloe Frazer working alongside Nadine Ross. Both titles were packaged in and re-released as Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection.

The package, which costs either 50 dollars alone or 10 dollars for an upgrade if you already own the games on PS4, comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a PS5 remaster. Resolution and frame rate are improved and the developers added DualSense functionality. While we are always down for more beautiful Uncharted action, the release does leave us with some questions regarding the games, how it was released, and the content within. Even if you consider Uncharted 4 the weakest in the franchise, it is still worth playing again.

7 Why Does It Cost More Money When Other Upgrades Are Free?

This generation has seen a lot of PS4 games receive free updates upgrading a game to take advantage of the PS5's extra power. Heavy-hitters like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War look better than ever on PS5. Even Naughty Dog's own The Last of Us Part 2 came with an update upping the frame rate and adding DualSense support.

With all of these examples, it makes us wonder why this particular remaster costs money. We are thankful for the upgrades, but it feels like it could have been an update since it does not add any actual game content. To be fair, it is not the first PS5 remaster to cost money. Spider-Man's remaster, for example, came with Spider-Man: Miles Morales Definitive Edition or was a separate purchase.

6 Why Is There No Multiplayer?

Uncharted Legacy of Thieves

People generally play Naughty Dog's games for the single-player campaign, but the multiplayer modes have amassed a following over the years. Uncharted 4's multiplayer was pretty standard fare, but it also included a cooperative survival mode for some interesting teamwork.

To see it absent from this collection is disappointing, especially when it costs money. At least the PS4 version still has the multiplayer servers running if you feel like playing it with friends. It runs as 60 frames per second as well.

5 How Would Amy Hennig's Uncharted 4 Have Been?

Amy Hennig directed all three of the PS3 Uncharted games but left the company early in Uncharted 4's development. The exact circumstances of her departure are unknown, though we do have some information about what the game was aiming for under her direction.

In an interview from 2019, the game designer states that the bare bones of the narrative and the new mechanics were in place, but Sam would have started out as more antagonistic. It is impossible to say if this would have been a better or worse game, but playing the remaster makes us wonder just how it would have been.

4 Will We Get Uncharted 5?

Uncharted 4 ties a neat bow on Nathan Drake's story, but there are many directions the series could go in the future. Maybe we could see more adventures starring Chloe Frazer or something with Sam Drake. A prequel with a younger Victor Sullivan shouldn't be taken out of the cards either.

Then, there is the possibility of a game starring a significantly older Nathan Drake, channeling some Logan or The Dark Knight Returns energy. This is all speculation, however, and we still aren't sure if Uncharted will have any future at all.

3 What Is Naughty Dog Working On?

After Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part 2 in 2020. The latter did not come with a multiplayer mode, though one is in the works with no definitive release date. Playing this collection makes us even more excited for what Naughty Dog might be working on next.

It is a reminder that the developer can do more than extremely depressing post-apocalyptic adventure games. Whether it is a continuation of a currently existing IP or a completely new franchise, fans are excited for whatever comes next from Naughty Dog.

2 Why Is There No Platinum For Lost Legacy?

The collection includes all the same trophies for the two games, letting you earn them again immediately if you import your prior saves. This is probably why there is no platinum for the Lost Legacy.

All the same, it is curious why it lacks a platinum trophy in the first place. Despite being an expansion, The Lost Legacy stands alone and does not require Uncharted 4 to play. As such, it feels weird for it to be absent from the title.

1 What Will The PC Version Bring To The Table?

Continuing the trend of bringing previously exclusive PlayStation games to PC, this collection also made its way to the platform. Porting a game to PC presents a plethora of new possibilities.

There are more visual options and even mod support can generate some funny user-made content. PC ports are not always a smooth transition, though. In recent years, several games have had troubles when coming to PC, including Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Fortunately, Uncharted 4 avoids these problems.
