Sonic fans have been deservedly piling on the criticism when it comes to the blue hero's upcoming live-action movie, and now they have even more ammo.

We tend to go through trends when it comes to the movie industry in the 21st century. Some of the latest have included creating sequels to movies or franchises from decades ago. Another is remaking movies from long ago with a modern twist. The latest is effectively a branch of that: taking animated classics making them live-action.

Disney has had a modicum of success in this arena. The Jungle Book was successfully converted into a live-action hit, as was Beauty And The Beast starring Emma Watson. Pokemon is even having a crack at it in the form of 2019's Detective Pikachu. The first trailer for the movie was met with a surprisingly positive response.

Another beloved animated character getting the live-action treatment in 2019 is Sonic The Hedgehog. To say that the first glimpse of the Sega hero was met with the same mixed response as Detective Pikachu would be a stretch. Earlier this week, IGN posted a silhouette of what Sonic will look like in the movie and we do not like it one bit. Judging by the reaction across the board, the rest of the internet seems to be on our side.

Sonic seems to be furry, and in an even more horrifying twist, has the limbs of a human being. As if the silhouette alone wasn't enough to make you fire up your Genesis and remind yourself of the good old days, a poster for the movie has since leaked online. You can check out for yourself above. Sonic appears to be chilling atop the Golden Gate Bridge, and for some reason, we are seeing the world from the famous hedgehog's crotch.

When it comes to Detective Pikachu we get why he is furry and looks the way that he does. We can't say the same for some of the other Pokemon featured in the trailer, and we definitely can't say that for Sonic. We get that he has to look real because it is a live-action adaptation of the classic video game franchise, but furry with the arms and legs of a human? We are skeptical, to say the least. Plus, we hope the entire movie isn't shown from the perspective of Sonic's bottom half.
