Video game developer Digital Arrow and publisher THQ Nordic recently announced the launch date for Aquanox: Deep Descent, the first-person deep-sea vehicle shooter that is the successor to 2001’s AquaNox. Aquanox: Deep Descent is currently scheduled to release for PC on October 16, 2020 on Steam with an SRP of $29.99.

The Aquanox: Deep Descent (ADD) Steam placeholder page is live, and you can add the game to your wishlist to be notified when it launches. The ADD Steam News and Community Hubs are both filled with extensive news and views on the game’s development cycle, in case you want to deep dive into the WIP world of Aquanox since its successful 2015 Kickstarter birth.

In 2001, THQ Nordic published the original AquaNox, and followed it with AquaNox 2: Revelation in 2010. Both games are still available on Steam separately ($4.99 each) or in a $7.99 package deal. ADD is set in the same world as the original, Aqua, where the majority of the Earth has been flooded, and most people have adapted to living underwater. And yet, this has still not abated their wanton desire to wage war on each other. With most of the world’s resources destroyed and underwater, the remaining human settlements now battle for control of what few resources remain available.

You can play ADD solo, or in an up to 4-player co-op team, and experience the epic story of the deep dark together. ADD features customizable submersibles with plenty of ship upgrades to outfit it to your playstyle, including underwater mines, shrapnel blasts, and, of course, torpedoes.

ADD also has classic multiplayer modes including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch Dogfighting, and an ocean full of exploring, salvaging, looting, and fighting. ADD’s dystopian gameplay also includes a multi-layered underwater ecosystem, where gathering resources and the struggle for survival is constantly shifting the political and economical balance of power.
