Untitled Goose Game released earlier this year to generally good reviews due to its unique style, indie puzzle elements, and  hilarious hijinks. More impressively, the game has seen massive commercial success as well -- to the tune of over one million copies sold.

Untitled Goose Game has  sold over one million copies this year. It is also one of 2019's indie highlights. Further, the game has turned out to be one of the Nintendo Switch's most downloaded titles of 2019. In those terms, it falls just behind the likes of Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Minecraft, and Cuphead and exceeds the download sales of big hitters like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Pokémon Sword & Shield, Luigi's Mansion 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Of course, this doesn't account for physical sales.

House House is the four-person company behind Untitled Goose Game. The fact that the studio is so small makes the feat that much more impressive and shows that gamers are more than willing to support indie developers.

Considered one of the best video game characters of the decade, the goose from Untitled Goose Game may be one of the most devilish but charming antiheroes in any video game. It is able to stealthily cause chaos and annoy village folk to insane degrees and provided us with some of 2019's best moments in games.

Fans of Untitled Goose Game, which released on Xbox One and PS4 to continued success this month, expressed their support in a multitude of ways. While one fan on Reddit made an impressive wooden sculpture of the misanthropic bird, another turned Resident Evil 2's equally terrifying Mr. X into the goose from the game.

Hopefully, Untitled Goose Game will get a sequel that improves on the original concepts of the first game. House House's profits will likely allow it to experiment with either it or other franchises. Ultimately, this serves to show that indie creativity can go a long way in establishing consumer appeal.
