Cure Rare Disease, a non-profit that funds nationwide research for uncommon health conditions, is partnering with The Practice Server to host a Fortnite tournament on December 14. All funds from the event will go to support Cure Rare Disease and its mission of helping all patients, no matter the prevalence of their disease.

Officially called the Elite Gamer Charity Tournament, the two organizations are trying to raise funds through sponsorships and donations leading up to the event – while also driving awareness of the charity.

The full prize distribution is pretty impressive, with 3K in cash for players and 15K in cash to donate on behalf of the player. Here's the full breakdown:

  • First: 3750
  • Second: 3000
  • Third: 2250
  • Fourth: 1875
  • Fifth: 1500
  • Sixth through Seventh: 750
  • Eighth through Tenth: 375

Everything kicks off December 14 at 4pm EST and runs until 8pm EST that night. The game mode of choice is Duos, with each elimination earning your team a point, while placing higher in each match will earn progressively more points up to 25 for a Victory Royale. The event is open to everyone – professionals and casuals alike – and is a great way to help out a great cause.
