As Dragon Eggs are used around the mid-game point, this may contain some slight spoilers for content, so proceed with caution! It's also important to note that although this is an egg, like the chicken egg in the game, Dragon Eggs have no value in cooking. Now, let's take a look at why Dragon Eggs are important.

What To Do With Dragon Eggs

Dragon Eggs only have one use in the game; summoning Moder.

Moder is the fourth boss in Valheim, found in the Mountain biome. Similar to other bosses, you need to summon Moder. This can be done by placing three Dragon Eggs on her altar within the Mountains.

You can collect more Dragon Eggs, but they can only be used to summon Moder again.

How To Obtain Dragon Eggs

Dragon Eggs are found within nests in the Mountains. They are large and glow pink, making them easy to spot from a distance.

This pink egg is guarded by Drakes, which fly through the sky and deal icy damage. These enemies have a chance to be near a nest where you can find an egg. The nests are rocky sections of the mountain that are often hard to spot, but if there is an egg in it, then you will definitely be able to see it.

A Dragon Egg weighs 200 pounds, so be sure that you have room in your inventory to bring it home! Unfortunately, this egg cannot be teleported.

Sometimes, you may have to do a bit of searching to find a Dragon Egg if there are no Drakes nearby. Keep your eyes peeled for any rocky formations and glowing objects!

Do Dragon Eggs Respawn?

Thankfully, Dragon Eggs do respawn. Once you collect a Dragon Egg, it will respawn in about eight hours. This is a long time, so it's best to search the Mountain biome for more locations rather than waiting.
