Valheim throws you into a harsh Viking world where there are nearly no friendly faces. While exploring, defeating bosses, and building up your base, you will have the chance to find Haldor. This is a friendly merchant who can be quite elusive.
Haldor will only appear in one fixed location per world, so tracking him down can be a bit difficult. Here, we are going to go over where you can find Haldor, as well as what he will sell to you. First, let's take a look at where this merchant is.
Updated May 4, 2023 by Jacqueline Zalace: Valheim has received a few updates, but one thing has remained constant; Haldor's difficulty to find. We've updated this guide with even more information to help you find Haldor, as well as additional items that are now available in his shop.
Where To Find Haldor
Valheim’s merchant only spawns in the Black Forest biome. When you are close to Haldor, a bag icon will appear on the map, marking his location.
Haldor has multiple spawn points on the map, but once you find him, all other locations will no longer apply. This means that once you find the merchant, he will always appear in that same spot. Drop a portal near him, so you don’t have to travel that far to buy or sell things to him.
Known Seeds With Haldor
If you’re dead serious about finding Haldor quickly, can find a few seeds that focus on the merchant’s location. For example, you can use seed: 42069lolxd, which will generate a world where Haldor spawns nearby your starting point.
Tips To Find Haldor
Overall, finding Haldor involves searching through the Black Forest biome; there are no tricks to it. If you are close enough, you may be able to spot the protective bubble around him, as well as a glowing green lantern that stands out from the dark trees in the Black Forest.
If finding Haldor proves to be too difficult, you can also use a seed finder. By heading to this website, you can enter your seed to get a complete version of your map. This will show biomes and bosses, as well as Haldor's location.
What Can You Trade With Haldor?
Once you find the merchant, it's time to start buying and selling. Haldor uses a unique currency that is only valuable to him — coins. You’ll find these by killing Trolls or Fulings and by looting chests or dungeons.
