Valheim's core mechanic is all about finding (and unlocking) new resources and ingredients so you can build the best headquarters, cook better meals, and craft better armor and weapons. That's why exploring the different biomes and killing enemies is pivotal if you want to succeed in this procedurally generated purgatory.

Finding the Wishbone is a MUST because it will help you in the search for these materials, and, just like The Megingjord belt, this is an accessory you can wear. Here's what you have to do to get it.

Where To Find The Wishbone

Seeing as this item is very useful, finding it won't be that easy. The first thing you will need to do is summon the Swamp biome's boss, Bonemass. To invoke this monster, you'll need to search through Sunken Crypts and large Muddy Scrap Piles to find 10 Withered Bones; after you get the bones, just place them in the summoning portal.

The fight against Bonemass is a tough one, but this boss will drop the Wishbone as a reward after successfully defeating it.

How To Use The Wishbone

Now that you have the accessory, simply equip it. From now on, every time you're near to buried treasure, green lines will project around your character, accompanied by a beeping sound. This accessory works like a mix between Spiderman's spidey senses and a metal detector; the closer you are to a treasure, the more the beeping will increase, indicating that you're on the right path.

With the Wishbone equipped, you can find:

  • Muddy Scrap Piles in the Swamp biome: These need a Pickaxe to be harvested. Keep in mind that the nodes extend underwater, so it can be hard to mine them successfully. Either way, once you interact with a Muddy Scrap Pile, there's a slight chance you'll receive Scrap iron (16%), Leather scraps (4%), or Wilthered bone (4%).
  • Silver veins in the Mountain biome: You'll need an Iron pickaxe or a better weapon to mine these veins. Once you do, you'll obtain Silver ore, which you can later melt using the smelter to acquire Silver.
  • Buried Treasure in the Meadows biome: once you're in the right spot, equip your character with an Antler pickaxe or something better and start digging until you see the treasure chest (the digging won't damage it, so don't worry about that). You could also keep digging in the area to find other resources but doing so will lower the pickaxe's durability. Once you open the treasure chest, there's a chance you'll get 1 to 2 Amber pearls (20%), 20 to 50 Coins (20%), 10 to 15 Fire Arrows (20%), 1 to 3 Rubies (20%) or 1 Silver necklace (20%).

Finally, once you've interacted with the secret the Wishbone picked up on, the beeping will stop.
