Today, Riot Games confirmed their newest game VALORANT will be fully launching and available to play for free to players around the world on June 2nd. VALORANT has enjoyed tremendous success since its closed-beta launch at the beginning of April as it helped break Twitch streaming records and secured some big names in the esports scene. A new map, agent and game mode will also be available when the game launches.

The full launch of VALORANT was always set to release sometime this summer, but a quick-approaching June 2nd is most likely earlier than some were anticipating. Either way, the game itself has shown tremendous potential and has the opportunity to be a competitive juggernaut for years to come. The closed-beta will close on May 28th as the team prepares for the June 2nd launch.

With the full launch comes some new additions to the game. A new game mode will be featured upon release with many speculating a deathmatch-style mode to provide a different type of experience when playing VALORANT. The focus will obviously be kept on the standard competitive mode, but more game types are always a plus.

Along with a new game mode, Riot confirmed there will be a new map and a new agent. The addition of another map will bring the total up to four, which doesn't seem like enough for a full launch. Players have been playing on the same three maps for two months so it would have been nice to have a lot least a few more. More maps will likely come to the game in the future, though. Another agent thrown in the mix brings the total up to 11 agents. No details about what map or agent abilities have been announced yet.

VALORANT will no doubt do well when it has its official launch at the beginning of June. It's an addicting, competitive tactical FPS experience featuring a diverse group of agents with varying abilities. It does feel a little barebone heading into a full launch with only one more map and agent on the way. Hopefully more will continue to be added as the game progresses.
