Valve's recent release of the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit schedule has been met with criticism after fans pointed out an event conflict. Dota 2 broadcast host and personality Jake "SirActionSlacks" Kanner was set to put on Midas Mode 2.0 during the same time, a tournament that would see top teams facing off against each other in a special game mode. SirActionSlacks expressed his disappointment in a now-deleted Tweet.

Midas Mode 2.0 is scheduled to run from September 24th to October 2nd. Valve has scheduled the first Minor and Major qualifier of the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit to take place over this same time frame. In this season of the DPC, Minor and Major qualifiers have been combined into one event. Meaning, if teams skip out on this qualifier to play in Midas Mode, they would lose out on the first Major of the season. This would prevent them from gaining valuable points in their journey to The International 2020. A number of teams have already said they will not be participating in the first Major of the season, though for some teams it is not a viable option.

Midas Mode 2.0, run by Moonduck and sponsored by Betway, already has a lot of infrastructure in place. The event is slated to take place at the Localhost Arena LAN Café in Denver, Colorado, and offers a $150,000 prize pool. The event is meant to show popular teams and community figures playing a special Dota 2 game mode, called Midas Mode. The mode completely shifts the objectives of the game, making everything revolve around an in-game currency called Moonbucks. Moonbucks can be used to purchase hero picks and bans, team side choices, and game pauses. Moonbucks must be earned by completing certain objectives within a game, like planting a tree in your enemy's fountain in the first 25 minutes, or to have a teammate cast the game while dead. The event is expected to host teams from three regions: North America, Europe, and China.

The Midas Mode 2.0 event has gained staggering support since the DPC's schedule was first revealed. Multiple community figures have spoken out in support of the event, stating that Valve should reschedule the conflicting qualifier. Fans have taken to Reddit, Twitter, and even email to let Valve know their stance on the matter. There is currently no word on whether or not Valve will reschedule the qualifier.
