A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, which is now coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong was originally shown at PDXCON 2019, as one of the upcoming titles in the World of Darkness video game franchise. Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is a narrative-focused title that adapts the current edition of the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop game into a video game format, in a similar manner to the recent Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York.

A new cinematic trailer has been released for Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, which offers hints at the story of the game. The biggest reveal in the trailer is that the game is coming to a number of systems, including the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as Nintendo Switch and on PC through the Epic Games Store.

The game puts the player in control of three different vampires during a tumultuous event in the modern nights. The domains of Boston and Hartford are being united into one through unknown means (possibly marriage), which will lead to conflict between the Kindred in the region. In the lore of Vampire: The Masquerade, a domain is the name given to a city or region that is ruled by a single vampire, known as a Prince (which is considered a unisex title). Princes and domains have sometimes gone to war in the past, so it will be interesting to see why these two domains, in particular, are uniting.

The Vampire: The Masquerade license laid dormant for years in the video game world, but it's making a comeback in a big way, especially with the release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 on the horizon. There are also games being released as part of the Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Wraith: The Oblivion series, so the future is looking bright (figuratively speaking) for the World of Darkness franchise.
