There have been a lot of video game characters that many people probably secretly wish they could have a kind of bromance with. Being able to unwind, grab a drink, and completely bro-down with your favorite characters is something everyone’s obviously wished for at some point.

No one wants to get too wild and have an over-the-top kind of a bro-down, but just a nice get-together to chat about life, experiences, and maybe swap some daily routine tips would be great. There really are few moments that would be greater than meeting your favorite game character only for them to forever refer to you as their bro.

10 Cloud Strife

It may seem strange to want to bro-down with someone as reserved and generally gloomy as Cloud, but that’s exactly why it would be necessary. Some might call Cloud a reluctant bro, the kind of person who wouldn’t want to admit to the lifestyle.

It might take some coaxing, but eventually, he could come out of his shell to share tales of his adventures, details about his lady friends, and get real about his own struggles. Plus, with how big his sword is, Cloud is bound to have some tips for lifting.

9 Kratos

Kratos Yells Into The Cold

Every group of friends needs one that brings a different level of intensity to everything that you do. The intensity that Kratos could bring to the simplest games, or while simply watching two teams going at it, would be unmatched.

Everyone in the room would be hyped up to the highest levels with Kratos screaming full-blast at anything in his way. Sure, he might be terrifying, but it’s probably something that someone could get used to after a little while. After all, bros don’t harm bros.

Link From Breath Of The Wild

Sure, Link may almost never talk, but that wouldn’t keep him from being a good bro; it might actually make him one of the best bros of all time. It’s often the quiet ones that are the most lively, and Link has proven to be a capable athlete.

He might just be quiet because most people would try to talk about general sports instead of things like horseback riding and sumo wrestling. True bros don’t draw the line at any sport, so learning a bit about wrestling Gorons might be a way to get Link to talk.

7 Nathan Drake

Nathan Drake on a boat in Uncharted 4

Usually, the life of the party is the kind of person who is willing to do anything at any moment. That almost perfectly describes Nathan Drake, a man who constantly winds up flinging himself from huge heights with little forethought.

His cocky nature would probably make him quite the show-off as well, so there would never be a dull moment getting to bro-down with Nathan Drake. Hopefully, he’d just leave all of the bad guys far away so that the bro-down doesn’t end with a car chase.

6 Geralt

The Witcher 3 Geralt with a new scar on his face.

You might think that a Witcher would be a terrible person to bro-down with because they seem to mostly have a gruff exterior. One might even say that Geralt's got his eye on the ball most of the time, but it’s that very thing that is looked upon fondly by bros.

That’s right. Geralt is the kind of guy who believes in the concept of the grind-set. He’s constantly working at all hours of the day to earn a little extra coin, making him someone worth getting a few tips from.

5 Leon Kennedy

Leon Kennedy Jacket

Most people have at least one person in their friend group that they would describe as the dad of the group. Leon Kennedy is almost certainly that man. I’m not referring to Resident Evil 2 Leon, this is Resident Evil 4 and beyond Leon.

Outside of keeping the peace and ensuring everyone present is safe, Leon would probably be the guy in the corner delivering corny jokes over and over. There’s nothing wrong with a classic dad joke and that seems like the kind of vibe that Leon would bring to a bro-down.

4 Barret Wallace

Barret Wallace in Final Fantasy VII

I don’t know many people who wouldn’t want to be best friends with Barret. He literally has a massive gun on his arm, something that many people would be in awe of. While he does get his hands dirty from time to time, he also makes time to take care of little Marleen.

While it may be horrifying to experience at first, seeing an excited Barret shoot his gun into the air when his team makes a great play is something that would probably make most people grin and shake their heads as they said, “Classic Barret.”

3 Johnny Cage

Mortal Kombat - Both The Future And Past Johnny Cage Smiling At Something

A list like this wouldn’t be complete without bringing up one of the most violent bros of all time, Johnny Cage. It would be a little weird to hang out with a guy who can literally kick someone in half, but his A-list celebrity style probably makes him great at a party.

Anyone who doesn’t believe Johnny Cage is the kind of guy to run around a party pumping his fist to the music might just be lying to themselves. The acting and fighting stories he could tell would probably help make him the most interesting guy in the room.

2 Ren Amamiya (Joker)

Joker from Persona 5

A gentleman thief and a complete lady's man? Who wouldn’t want to bro-down with Ren Amamiya? While his personality is really what you choose it to be, he is at the very least an interesting person who can form strong bonds of friendship.

He’d obviously be the unassuming bro in the group, but he’d also be the mastermind. There’s no need to set plans when Ren has already put everything in motion without you ever even knowing it. Even better, Ren is the kind of person who’d bring some friends along to make the bro-down even better.

1 Lilith

Borderlands Lilith Firehawk Siren

One of the most famous characters from Borderlands is the always fiery Siren, Lilith. It's hard to deny how much she would add to the group dynamic at your bro-down.

Not only would she easily hold her own in a room full of bros, but she’d probably be the most interesting one there. Tons of great stories and the ability to phase around for drinks makes Lilith one of the best bros someone could ask for.
