When monsters need slaying, you go and hire a witcher to take care of it. None are more capable of taking on the world's fiercest monsters than witchers, but it's also a job description that many characters from other video games could fit right into without a problem.

On the other hand, there are also quite a few video game characters that would be a better fit in the Wild Hunt, the main antagonists from The Witcher 3. Here are five video game characters that would make great witchers, as well as five that should be in the Wild Hunt.

10 Wild Hunt: The Illusive Man

The Illusive Man kicks off this list as a character that would probably do well as a member of the Wild Hunt. This enigmatic villain from the Mass Effect series might come from a sci-fi future, but his plans wouldn't have to change all that much in the medieval fantasy world of The Witcher.

Both the Illusive Man and Eredin, the leader of the Wild Hunt, share the belief that their race is superior to all others and seek to ascend their race to prove it.

9 Witcher: Doom Slayer

Doom's Doom Slayer may not speak much, or at all, but he knows how to get the job done. Just the sight of him brings fear to even his allies, but when it comes to which side he'd be on in the Witcher universe, it's going to be the witchers.

Hunting and taking down demons is what Doom Slayer does with deadly efficiency, so hunting the monsters from The Witcher wouldn't even phase him. Plus, going up against the Wild Hunt seems right up his alley.

8 Wild Hunt: Albert Wesker

Albert Wesker of Resident Evil fame is a recurring antagonist in the franchise. He's cartoonishly evil, but so are the Wild Hunt (running around in skull armor seems a bit over the top), so Wesker would probably be a good fit.

Where the Wild Hunt seem hell-bent on wiping out the Witcher world with the White Frost, in Resident Evil, sunglasses aficionado Wesker wants to wipe out humanity with viruses. Though their motives differ, Wesker and the Wild Hunt would likely get along.

Legend of Zelda's Link might as well be a witcher already. He's no stranger to battling it out with monstrous creatures or getting tangled up in world-shaking prophecies. He's basically Nintendo's Geralt, but more lighthearted.

Link may have the pointed ears of an elf, but there's no way he'd side with the Wild Hunt, who are elves themselves. The Wild Hunt are essentially the equivalent of Ganon in many ways, so Link would likely make a good witcher.

6 Wild Hunt: Sephiroth

Final Fantasy VII's long-haired, leather-clad villain would be a good fit in the Wild Hunt. Sephiroth has a chip on his shoulder against the world and would like to see it destroyed. Being part of the Wild Hunt would give him free rein to do just that.

Even though the Wild Hunt's motives don't really align with Sephiroth's, there's just something about Sephiroth's cold aloofness and vicious approach that makes him a perfect member for the Wild Hunt.

5 Witcher: 2B

2b Cutscene

An expert sword wielder, fights for humanity even though they aren't human themselves, and repressed emotions straining to burst to the surface; these are all traits that sound like it could apply to Geralt, but it also applies to NieR: Automata's protagonist 2B.

Even though they come from two vastly different worlds, 2B has an air about her that is quite like a witcher. Also, just because women (or in this case android women) aren't typically made into witchers, there's absolutely no reason why she can't.

4 Wild Hunt: 9S

The 9S at the start of NieR: Automata is a very different person to the 9S at the end of the game, and it's the 9S from the end of the game that could be in the Wild Hunt.

After becoming corrupted and descending into madness, 9S sort of becomes the villain of the story and as tragic as it is, that version of him would probably do pretty well in the Wild Hunt.

3 Witcher: Dante

The too cool for school recurring protagonist of the Devil May Cry series, Dante is yet another character that is basically a witcher as it is. Dante hunts demons for money before getting caught in something grander, which sounds very similar to Geralt's life story.

Like witchers, Dante isn't exactly human. Dante is half-demon, born from a human mother and demon father, while witchers aren't considered human because of the mutations they go through.

2 Wild Hunt: Ganondorf

Ganondorf smiles with his fist against his chin.

If Link is basically already a witcher, then Ganondorf is basically Eredin, the leader of the Wild Hunt. Like Eredin, Ganondorf has a lust for power and conquering the world before the respective heroes of their games put the kibosh on their plans.

Ganondorf's and Eredin's motives are also quite similar. Ganondorf was gifted with powerful magic and seeks the power of the Triforce, just as Eredin seeks the power of the Elder Blood, to enhance his magic and conquer the world. Needless to say, no one would bat an eye if Ganondorf led the Wild Hunt.

1 Witcher: Cloud

Sword strapped to his back; our brooding protagonist rolls into town looking to make some extra cash before becoming embroiled in something much larger than themselves. Sound familiar?

Both Geralt and Cloud, from Final Fantasy VII, have similar character traits, but they also share some physical traits as well. Both of them were enhanced to become stronger fighters, and those mutations can be seen in their eyes. With the remake still on everyone's minds, it's easy to see Cloud as a witcher.
