In 2017 Crash Bandicoot came back in a big way with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a remake of Naughty Dog's classic trilogy that first launched on the PS1 in the latter half of the 1990s.

With Toys for Bob hard at work on Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, we thought it a good time to compare the lovable character to other famous video game heroes. Specifically, which ones could he beat in a duel. While the bandicoot does not have the largest arsenal at his disposal, his lack of language skills and look makes him unpredictable & almost scary in a one on one fight.

10 Can Beat: Bubsy

Is there a single video game hero who could not beat Bubsy? This is not only referring to the quality of his titles, specifically the legendarily clunky Bubsy 3D on the PlayStation. The cat does not have a lot of weapons or moves. In a dire situation, all he could do is slowly glide away. Once Crash catches up to him, he'll immediately dispatch him with some brutal spin attacks.

9 Cannot Beat: Knack

The Knack games did not reach the same level of recognition on the PlayStation 4 as Crash Bandicoot did on the original PlayStation. Popularity aside, Mark Cerny's creation would immediately do away with Crash once he grew larger. The bandicoot's spins and jumps would do nothing against him as a large beast. Maybe the Wumpa fruit launcher would damage him a bit, but Knack would just knock it out of his hands.

8 Can Beat: Sonic

Sonic's heyday was on the Sega Genesis. While some of his 3D titles made a splash, they failed to reach the same universal acclaim as the original titles. If he were to charge towards Crash with the lightning fast speed for which he is known, all the bandicoot would have to do is spin at the right time and it would send Sonic flying into the sun. No amount of snarky '90s attitude could save him.

7 Cannot Beat: Donkey Kong

Not only is Donkey Kong bigger, but he is faster and stronger too. Size is an advantage over Crash to begin with, but Donkey Kong is also agile and intelligent, as opposed to Crash's classic dimwitted nature. With one hand, DK could toss Crash miles away. It is hard to believe a spin attack does much damage against the popular Nintendo character, either.

6 Can Beat: Sackboy

Sackboy is probably the nicest character on this list, and fans cannot wait to get their hands on Sackboy: A Big Adventure on the PlayStation 5. However, kindness will not win a fight, and one can only imagine Media Molecule's adorable creation cowering in fear with its trademark scared expression as Crash chases after him, shooting Wumpa fruit from his bazooka. One good spin attack and Sackboy's cotton insides spill all over the place.

5 Cannot Beat: Spyro

Crash may have his spins, jumps, body slams, and his trusty Wumpa fruit bazooka, but Spyro has the ability to breath fire and charge at his enemies.

Considering the dragon's small stature, Crash does not want to think about where those horns will go if he is gored by them. The two were friends on the PlayStation One, so it is difficult to imagine a scenario where the two would want to kill each other.

4 Can Beat: Banjo

Banjo has a sidekick to help him out. Even with this assistance, he does not have the same aggression as Crash. Banjo-Kazooie is a more relaxing platforming experience, where Crash Bandicoot is all about the rigorous challenge of completing linear levels. Due to the latter's increased difficulty, his senses are more tuned for a duel to the death.

3 Cannot Beat: Rayman

Similar to why Crash would beat Banjo, Rayman would probably beat Crash because of his experience going through all of his titles. The first Rayman game is one of the most difficult 2D platformers ever made, and any character who lived through it is a force to be reckoned with. Rayman has long range attacks as well, and his small size makes him a hard target.

2 Can Beat: Jak

In the first Jak and Daxter game, Jak's move set is surprisingly similar to Crash. The character eventually gets an arsenal and starts talking in the sequels. Even though Jak is intelligent and has more going on in his life, one should never underestimate Crash's questionable mind and unpredictability. In an evenly matched bout, Crash's spins, jumps, and body slams would trump Jak. While Daxter would be by his side, it is difficult to imagine he would be much help.

1 Cannot Beat: Mario

Over the years Mario has amassed a whole set of skills, most of which would help him in a fight against Crash Bandicoot. The only other real skills Crash has is kart racing and flying planes. Mario also has numerous power ups at his disposal, giving him the ability to glide through the sky, jump super high, or shoot fireballs from his hands. Even without all those, his punch, punch, kick combo would do away with Crash in a hand to hand bout.
