We, as gamers, have been introduced to hundreds of powerful video game villains over the past generations of consoles, and each notable villain has a reason to why they should garner the number one spot on anyone's list. With this list, you will see some of the most powerful, diabolical, and ambitious video game villains of all time. However, there's a twist. This is going to be a gender-bending list from male to female characters. So this is like two for one, not only including the most iconic villains in video game history but also giving you a female depiction of said villain.

For the sake of the list, I had to only account for powerful male video game villains so I could find their female counterpart. This isn't to say that there aren't plenty of ruthless female villains in video game history, because there definitely are plenty of them, this list is just specially tailored to the male villains to give me the opportunity to find a female depiction of each character. In the future, I may do a female to male conversion list for anyone who would be interested in seeing such a thing.

This list is in no particular order.

25 Riddle Me This

via salamandra88.deviantart.com

Remember how annoying the Riddler was in the Arkham Knight series? I liked him as a character, but he was always the one thing standing in my way of getting every achievement on the game. In fact, on the latest Batman game, you had to get all of his goofy little trophies to even get 100 percent in the game, I just don't have the drive in me to go scavenging the city for those little green punctuations. It's not worth it.

Having a female Riddler may prove to be an even more problematic for any caped crusader who tries to flaunt her plans.

It's said that women are smarter than boys, so a female Riddler may possess double the brain power in inside that psychotic noggin. Combined with the attractiveness of modern supermodel and you have a recipe for a dangerous woman. That just adds a much bigger threat to anyone who comes into contact with her. You can't be the smartest and the prettiest person in the room, well you can, but you get what I mean. Don't you?

It's a recipe to outsmart each and every guy who lays their eyes upon this bombshell. If the green suit riddled with question marks isn't a warning to how crazed she is, a 5-minute conversation will definitely show you that you should probably cut your losses and leave this woman alone... or else!

24 More Menacing Than The Male Cell

via: youtube.com

I know what you're thinking: why do you have a picture of Cell of on a list of video game villains? Well, sir, I'll have you know that Cell is featured on many a Dragon Ball Z game. It still feels like a cop out using him on a video game villain list, but hey, I'm not breaking any rules here.

Dragon Ball Z is one of the most respected anime to ever hit our TV screens, so, it makes sense that there would be a handful of fans eager to put their own spin on some of their favorite DBZ characters, and why not start of with one of the most fierce of villains, Cell. Cell gave our heroes a run for their money through weeks of new episodes.

Making Cell into a female character is no easy task. He has a lot of weird but distinctive features that make it difficult to replicate feminine qualities. When you think of a female anime character, you think big stuff and pretty eyes, right? Well, this female version of Cell is nothing like the traditional female anime character. She looks mean and grotesque, almost worse than the original Cell, which is saying a lot. I don't know what it is about the way she is looking (maybe it's the blank, 1000-mile stare), but she is definitely creeping me out.

I have a shameful confession to make. I have never played a Zelda game a day in my life. I know, I feel like crap. Every time I tell someone this news they all drop their jaw and their eyes widen as if I said I could fly or something. Is it really that bad that I haven't played a Zelda game? I think people are so astonished by this because Zelda is well solidified in the gamers hall of fame as one of the best video games created and I missed out on it on many different occasions.

I guess since I have a Nintendo Switch I could by Breath of the Wild and use it to catch up on years of missed Zelda games. Either way, I do know that this is Ganon/Ganondorf, and he's the main villain in all of these games. His look does sometimes change from game to game, but one thing he's never been is female. That's where this fan art comes in.

Female Ganon still seems to be as intimidating as ever. We're not surprised that Zelda and Link see him as a foe not to be messed with.

22 She's Actually Kind Of Cute

via i.pinimg.com

I'm not really into girls with bright green hair and septum rings that would stab me in the face if I got too close, but you have to admit, she's kind of cute. Do you agree? Well, her yellow teeth take away from her allure, but hey, there’s still something about her that makes me find her slightly (and I mean really slightly) attractive.

The Joker is one of the most, if not the most, menacing villains to ever be presented to an audience.

His ruthlessness and sharp wit make him very unpredictable. The female version of The Joker above kind of looks like she would be his daughter posing for a selfie that honors her dad’s famous style of dress. There’s something cool about the way this artist decided to draw her expression. She’s sticking her tongue out and enjoying her time in front of the camera. Any other depiction of  The Joker would present the psychotic villain with a look of sheer creepiness. But she looks kind of playful. Still, I would never mess with a woman like her. Talking to someone who looks like that is just asking for trouble, ya know unless you’re into that type of thing.

21 So The Female Versions Are Triple The Height?

via deviantart.com (darkness1999th)

For the life of me, I could not remember the name of this villain in the Mario games. I knew he was a character you would run into in the snow levels, but I could not come up with his name to save my life. Then it hit me. Shy guy. So, we’ll call the female version, “Shy Girl,” I know it's cliche, but it works.

I like this rendition of Shy Guy. The artist took a short and hardly menacing villain and turned him into a slightly creepy, slightly pretty female version. The first thing you will notice about Shy Girl is the fact that she is triple the size of the original Shy Guy. Shy Guy doesn’t even appear to have legs, just a pair of clunky blue feet, which could explain why he wobbled around so much in the game.

Shy Girl has human-like features. Even though we are unable to see what she has under her mask, you can almost guarantee that she will have a fairly normal human face. This artist did a great job of recreating shy guy into a tall and alluring woman, well, as alluring as you can be with a simple hockey mask strapped to your face.

20 We Can't Believe That This Is A Real Person

Via ?

This can be considered as another cop-out. This character is the female version of Handsome Jack from the Borderlands series. Handsome Jack was one of those funny, but still kind of ruthless villains. I know you’re wondering why this is considered to be a cop-out, right? Well, I’ll tell you. The reason this picture is considered to be a cop-out is that this isn’t a drawing. It’s a real person!

Yeah, you read that properly. This is a real person who decided to go to a cosplay as a female version of Handsome Jack.

It really is kind of weird to think that this is a real person, but I came to this conclusion after taking an extensive look at the model and her features. After thieving it some thought, I could begin to understand how she made the picture look like someone torn straight out of a Borderlands comic strip. You know those handy little things called filters on your phone? This has to be the work of one particular filter in which you will be “cartoonified” for your amusement. This cosplay is impressive on so many levels, and really captures the spirit of the character. Color us impressed!

19 Who Knows What They're Up To

via deviantart.com (psycie)

Have you ever been gambling before? How does putting all that money down on one measly number make you feel, scary right? For a brief moment, after you place your bets, you can't help but feel like you made a mistake. Like a child after a speedy carousel, the room begins to spin. Your eye locks onto the die that you just threw, just hoping that the number you want manages to present itself to both you and the crowd. Then... you win big! You think you should go ahead and just sweep up your fresh stack of money and take it home with you, but why not keep playing, you're on a winning streak, play it until it runs out.

This is what happens to many people who step foot into a Casino looking to become richer in one afternoon. Looking at this picture makes you think, is there some truth behind the casino working in unison with the Devil? After all, people throw their lives away at the casino every day! This is the central theme of Cuphead, the game where the two villains above are originally from (probably should've started with that first). The Devil gets our two heroes to gamble away their souls and forces them to work for him, or in this case, her. The moral of the story with Cuphead is, "Don't Deal With The Devil." I'd say they got their point across.

18 Basically Just Raiden With Red Lipstick

via deviantart.com (brookestirr)

Raiden is a very dangerous person to mess with. Going head to head with someone who has the power of electricity surging through the tips of his fingers is just idiotic. Mortal Kombat features many devious and dangerous villains, and yes, Raiden was a villain at some point in the Mortal Kombat series.

If you've played Mortal Kombat X, and have managed to put enough time into it where you beat the main story, you may have noticed that the final cutscene featured a Raiden with yellow eyes and dark skin. This will now be mentioned as Evil Raiden. Alongside Evil Raiden was yellow-eyed Lui Kang and Katana. I can't wait to see where this goes in the next Mortal Kombat game.

Having Raiden, Katana, and Lui Kang as the main villains will definitely make things interesting.

Okay, that was a long-winded way of explaining how Raiden does belong on this list. See, I have an answer for everything, and if you believe one or more characters don't belong on this list, I bet I can show you otherwise. The thing is with video games, pretty much everyone has been a villain at one point or another.

17 The Red Hair Is A Nice Touch

via kyowell.deviantart.com

Honestly, I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan. Hate it or love it, you know who Darth Vader is though. This artist did an amazing job of recreating Darth Vader into a female character! All the little subtle details make this picture seem as if this were the original way Darth was meant to be created. Take a second to appreciate all the extra components the artist put into this picture.

First off, the calf-high boots are one of the first features you would notice in this picture since they are right there in your face.

Also, take a quick look at her collarbones. No, for that reason, look slightly above her chest! You see that nicely drawn tattoo? If I were to draw up a female picture of Darth Vader, I would assume that she would have tattoos as well for that added realism.  Also, the corset is probably the best part of this picture.

You know right off the bat that this is supposed to be a female Darth Vader because of it. The dark wavy hair is the best part, it adds another element to her gritty presence. It makes her look alluring and threatening, well, as alluring as someone can be with a Darth Vader mask on.

16 The Definition Of Insanity

via evilsyrnik.deviantart.com

Vaas was the best villain I have seen in any video game, hands down. This guy was completely insane and unpredictable. The voice acting was superb and his story was even better. Far Cry 3 proved how a good, charismatic villain should be, and I don't know if I've seen anything like that since.

To think that someone would have the creativity to draw up a female version of Vaas shows that there is true talent out in the world. I don't know if there has ever been a female doppelganger of Vaas ever in video games, but it would be something interesting to see. The biggest thing about Vaas is that he is a psychotic person who leaves a trail of torment behind him.

This female version of Vaas definitely looks like him. She has the hairstyle, the way of dress and even the crazy eyes, which is really the most important part. You can really tell if someone is insane by the look in their eyes. Anyone who looks over their shoulders with the piercing glare such as this shows that you turn around and keep moving. This is definitely one girl that we wouldn't want to mess with.

15 I Would Hate To Be Alone With Her

via deviantart.com (nuclear mentality)

So she's here practicing her deadly sword swing. Remember pyramid head from the Silent Hill games? That big, pale skinned guy who roamed the halls with an undeserved sense of authority. Who am I kidding? That guy definitely earned every ounce of fear surrounding him.

How else could you feel about an enemy with a gigantic sword and white clothes drenched in stuff?

Silent Hill always had the ability to creep me the heck out in an instant. The gloomy atmosphere, the gross enemies, and the constant thought of turning down the wrong hallway can really do things to someone's psyche. The paranoia increased when I saw Pyramid Head for the first time. I didn't know what to make of it or what it was, I just knew that I had to get away FAST!

This picture captures the dreary scenes you can usually see in a Silent Hill game. The dark corridors and dingy cracked walls all come together to give you the sense of depression and hopelessness. Female Pyramid Head is just as somber as her male counterpart as well. She has the same look, but with a few added features. The long hair chain securely wrapped around it is a nice touch.

14 Truly Strange Smile... Creepy

via media.dorkly.cvcdn.com

Look at that face! A look of power with those bulging eyes staring back at you. M. Bison is one character I have never gotten the chance to see play with, as I am not a huge fan of the Street Fighter games, but I have seen plenty of pictures that feature that deranged smile, and this artist captured it perfectly.

M. Bison is a big guy and to revamp his features to create a female version of him is a difficult task. Nevertheless, this artist did it, and they did a great job it. Like I said before, there is one sure fire way to make find out if you are looking at a crazy person, its all in the eyes. Take a quick look at their eyes and you'll see exactly what type of person they are. I don't know if you would even need to look into Ms. Bison's eyes to see that she's crazy. The smile will show you just enough information. If not the smile, then the hands that are holding two purple orbs of devastating power will let you know! The message is clear here, and I don't know if it would be any clearer. Stay away from people who have their eyes wide open and who are smiling from ear to ear.

13 Remember The Fallen

via vayne007.deviantart.com

Never thought I'd see a female version of the Fallen from the Destiny series. These creatures were always kind of cool to me. The fact that they have a wolf as their main sigil automatically gives them a few points in my book (I'm big on wolves). The Fallen travel in packs, just as wolves do. They attack their enemies by wearing them down with constant attacks, just as wolves do. They are courageous, just as wolves... well, you get the drift.

The Fallen were the best enemies Destiny had to offer. They were ferocious and mean with an unsettled grudge that made them ruthless. At first glance, you wouldn't notice that this is a female version of the Fallen, but if you take a second look, the answer is staring you right in the face. I don't think I need to go into any more detail about that. I believe all of the Fallen had long hair as this female version does, but I'm not entirely sure. Overall, great picture. It's a subtle way to recreate my favorite Destiny enemy.

The art style on this one is very fun as well, and it does a great job of being menacing while retaining its cartoony look.

12 As If Wesker Wasn't Bad Enough

via artbyflimp.deviantart.com

This guy, well, gal, here is one of the most irritating enemies you'll ever face in a video game. The first time I encountered Wesker is when I played Resident Evil 5. I know, I know, I was super late to the party, but I was never into Resident Evil before then. The main thing that made me play Resident Evil 5 in the first place was the co-op feature, which was AWESOME!

Wesker really gave me and my buddy a hard time.

He seemed like he was an unbeatable enemy, and it felt as if we had no chance to defeat him, with his superhuman abilities and all. The sad part is, I actually liked Wesker. The guy could do some pretty amazing stuff. I mean, catching an RPG rocket with your bare hands, C'mon! The only part that was so annoying to me about this guy was that he refuses to perish. It takes many an ammo clip to put this guy down, and when you finally do manage to take him out, HELLO! I'm back again for another round, but this time I'm bigger and stronger! So annoying.

Wesker always had a sleek look. He kind of reminded me of a 20th-century vampire. He was pale with his hair slicked back. He wore a black coat and gloves and always kept on sunglasses to hide his red eyes. This female version of Wesker stays true to his stylish nature.

11 Fem Bowser Looks Ruthless

via gullacass.deviantart.com

There's a lot going on in this picture. Not in terms of a scene or anything, but I mean the artist uses a lot of space to create this female Bowser. Perhaps one of the most notorious villains to we have gotten in video games, Bowser is definitely here to stay. He's about as ruthless as you could be and still be able to get a Y rating with the ESRB. It's not about how ruthless Bowser is, to be honest, it's more about how long he's been around and how much fans adore him.

You had to have known that there would be plenty people out there who like to draw Bowser. He is an inviting character to recreate because of bright and colorful art style. There were many more pictures out there of a female version of Bowser, but I decided to go with this one since it gave Bowser a more defiant look. The very first thing you may notice is the fire in the background. Bowser is no stranger to fire, but this artist used it in a way that gave Bowser a more threatening appearance. Fem Bowser has long claws and tight abs, both of which make you stay far away, or risk becoming a potential snack, like that poor ice cream cone in her hand.

10 Must Be A Teenage Version Of Frieza

pbs.twimg.com

Soda and cellphones. Two things every teenage girl needs to complete their existence. In this picture, we have a teenage version of Frieza; it almost looks like this could be Frieza's daughter or something. I just have one question, though. What the heck is that bow on her head tied to? I know you were wondering the same thing, weren't you? She has no hair to tie it to. It's just sitting there on her head. Did she just glue it there, or what?

I'm kind of confused about this character's age. On one end, you have a cellphone, and on the other end, she's wearing a tutu and a pretty pink bow fit for a young girl. You know, these days, it's not hard to believe that a child not even in their teens could have a cellphone, so I am going to assume that this depiction of Frieza is more like a pre-teen, rather than a teenager. Nevertheless, its a nicely drawn picture. The artist did a good job of coming with their own unique color scheme for Frieza and, I must say, it looks pretty good. I would never have thought about putting lime green and purple together, but it works.

9 What's She Thinking About?

cdnb.artstation.com

This is one character I would have never thought would have been converted into a female character, but I did end up seeing a bunch of different drawings of her online. Doomfist is a huge dude. His primary attack is the use of his metal fist. With it, he smashes his enemies into walls leaving layers of devastating cracks upon impact.

Doomfist also has a weapon on his left hand that he uses to fire projectiles at enemies at a distance.

When we were first introduced to Doomfist, we saw 3 heroes fighting him at once. He was ruthless. Taking on Tracer, Genji, and Winston all at once, and landing some devastating blows. Doomfist is an athletic villain. He has a strong upper body and the ability to jump at distances that are not usual for the normal human. This female version of Doomfist looks just as ruthless as the male one. She has a stern look on her face and that big golden fist is nothing to mess with.

Never played as Doomfist, load up Overwatch and see why he's one of my favorite characters to play as. He's an attacker too, so that's that right up my alley since attackers are almost all I play as. I love to quickly pick off enemies any way possible.

8 The Pink Suit Fits Her Better Anyway

via hiyokinom.deviantart.com

This guy was freaking crazy! I remember the first time I saw him appear in Far Cry 4. He bombarded a tour bus and starting going for almost everyone on board. At one point I can remember him pulling out a knife, going at someone, and complaining about how he got stuff on his shoes. If that's not a clear-cut case of sociopathic tendencies, I don't know what is. For you to show more emotion to the fact that your shoes are gross from something you did, shows just how much of a nut you are!

To recreate Pagan as a female must not have been that hard. The fact that he is kind of flamboyant already makes adding a few feminine features easy, at least, I think it would. I mean, the guy is already wearing a bright pink suit to begin with, just stick a pair of high heel shoes and some female head on it and you've got yourself a female Pagan.

Far Cry is known for having crazed villains. The series is responsible for bringing my favorite villain of all time to life, Vaas. I wonder if they would ever have a female villain as the main villain one day. We got a touch of this on Far Cry 3 with Vaas's sister. She made you make a difficult choice and she could have been seen as a villain at one point. However, she wasn't the main villain.

7 Show Me Some Love, Spidey

via jackbastable.deviantart.com

Is this how Venom would be if he were actually a female? Affectionate like this and wanting to give out friendly neighborhood Spider-Man a huge hug. I doubt it. It just doesn't seem like something Venom would do, male or female. Venom is a parasite. He feeds on the misery of his host and uses them to spread hate, not love. I bet Spider-Man would love this, though, the opportunity to put away one of his most crazed nemesis for good? He'd be all over it.

Venom is one of my favorite villains of Spider-Man. He's like the doppelganger of Spidey. He's bigger, stronger, and more grotesque. I have to say, I am also a big fan of the black suit too. Perhaps the only villain I like more than Venom is Carnage, and that's just because he's red and black which is my favorite color combination. What if Venom and Spider-Man were to work together and create a devastating dynamic duo? That would be awesome! I feel like something like that has already before in the comics, but I'm not one hundred percent sure. Either way, I bet it would be a nice thing to see if our two web-slingers got together to take out a few foes.

6 Let's Be Friends

via tintrue.deviantart.com

Isn't this a sweet picture? All of the main characters from the Kirby series recreated into female depictions. This looks like a gang of girls enjoying their time together out at the mall or something. Check out Kirby. She has gotten at least 5 times taller, with longer legs and actual arms now, instead of those little nubs he had before. King Dedede has dropped about 200 hundred pounds and has taken on a human form. She's still able to carry along that gigantic hammer, though. My favorite one out of the bunch is Meta Knight. Meta Knight is my favorite Kirby character. Maybe it's because I used to get a bunch of wins with his speedy blade on Super Smash Bros.

I and my best friend would go head to head on Smash Bros. He would choose Kirby and I would go with Meta Knight and it wasn't because we were trying to stay true to the show or anything, these guy just happened to be our best characters. Man, we would go back and forth. Both Kirby and Meta Knight had a set of killer moves and could fly at a given moment, which prolonged our battles even more.
