There are plenty of other games starring cats. They let you control one cat or more and embark on various different stories or complete relaxing puzzles. Cats are comfort creatures for many and using them as heroes and plot devices in the one media that gamers love, has never been more fun.

16 Stray

Stray is the latest cat game that everyone's been waiting to get their hands on, aside from Copycat. This is the first game to do it big with being a cat. You can meow on command and parkour around a cyberpunk city in an emotional rollarcoaster of a story. While other cat games are meant to be an adorable and relaxing experience, Stray is an interactive fiction and piece of art. It's a single-player story game about being a stray cat far from home.

This is an interesting and spooky twist on what is usually an innocent, colorful game involving cats. Rain World stars a slugcat. You heard that right. It's a slug and a cat combined. In this game, you traverse a dystopian and tarnished world full of dangerous monsters waiting to eat you, the slugcat. Rain World is meant to be a difficult platformer, so anticipate trying again until you get that jump right or survive that difficult foe. The game is meant to be a challenging survival horror with an amazing pixel art style and physics.

This is a phenomenal platform story adventure where you play as a college drop out cat. You go back to your hometown and things aren't exactly as they once were. This story may hit home for a lot of people, returning home from school is often a nostalgic thing, especially during autumn. You can do a wide range of things in this game. Create or end relationships, play bass in a Guitar Hero-esque mini game, and more. Night In The Woods has some psychological horror elements and an amazing soundtrack that will stay in your memory for a while.

In this game, you play as one cat trying to gain a massive following of street cats. Collect as many different cats as you can and take over the neighborhood. You're even able to collect cute hats for your cat to wear. Kitt.io has controller support and the cats await your leadership.

This is a hand-drawn indie game with calming artistic design and adorable gameplay. This is a lighthearted game where you play as a cat named Kimchi. The game pays tribute to many famous internet cats we know and love and is made by an animator that used to work with Disney and Warner Bros. The developers are donating some of the profits of this game to multiple different organizations associated with animal welfare. This team made a goal to create an adorable, funny game for a good cause.

Cat Meat is an inexpensive video game on Steam that brings gaming back to its routes. You play as a blue cat in a colorful platforming world. The gameplay is very reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. You can choose from two different cats, a blue one and a pink one with a bow. Meteorites fall as you try to traverse these puzzling platforms on the way home. As per cat logic, you only have nine lives in the game.

10 Gato Roboto

Who doesn't love the old-fashioned adorable, harmless character inside a large deadly mech? In Gato Roboto, you play just that. A cute kitty in a robotic suit going through space and time to save your trusty captain and killing aliens on the way. This is the retro Metroidvania platformer of your dreams. Gato Roboto contains challenging levels and adorable dialogue. You get to traverse through difficult levels and collect new weapons as a cute cat in a deadly machine.

9 Play With Gilbert

In an elementary-styled simulation game, you play as Gilbert. A white little kitty that is just trying to make his way in the world and ultimately have fun. You can go on adventures, meet other cats, and have an overall splendid time.

This game was made for children three years old and up, to help familiarize them with 3D gameplay environments and how video games work. Though it was intended for kids, there's something relaxing and fun about walking around the streets as a cat with no particular objective.

8 MagiCat

Another retro-inspired platformer arises as you play as a cat that is also a witch. Or warlock. Whatever floats your boat. In MagiCat, you wander through different levels, platforming and beating enemies until you reach the end boss.

In the game, you strive to find an ancient lost relic that was stolen. In many ways, and in none at all, this is the Cat-Lara Croft that we've been looking for. With replay value and lore, this game is sure to keep some cat lovers (who also favor retro-styled pixelated games) busy.

In the second game, The Gentlebros branch out by allowing players to play either a cat or dog as well as enabling a multiplayer experience.

A Street Cat's Tale is a captivating, pixilated indie game about a stray cat's humble beginnings (and perhaps ends) living on the streets alone. Do you make friends with the other stray cats? Get injured in a street fight? Or perhaps persuade a passerby to feel sorry for you and take you in as their own?

You play as a kitten growing up in a harsh environment, and you go through an emotional rollercoaster as you see firsthand what it's like to be a stray animal in a populated area. Leaning more towards an eerie fantasy adventure, Another Sight is reminiscent of Alice In Wonderland. You play as both a blind, lost girl and a mysterious cat. This is a 3D puzzle platformer where you work together to solve mysteries and progress toward safety and toward answers.

Because the young girl canont see, you switch to controlling the cat to be her eyes. As the cat, you can lead the young girl to safety and work together to escape and figure out what's going on. This is a fantastical and emotional cruise.

2 Cattails

What some may call Stardew Valley - Cats Edition, is an RPG life simulation of a stray cat's life. You get to customize and create your very own cat and live out life by joining communities, finding love, and fighting out in the wild for food. Live out your cat fantasies in a feline community. You're able to get married, have kids, and die old in this simulation game.

1 Blacksad: Under The Skin

A more recent and modern game that lets you play as a cat is nothing short of a Sherlock Holmes escapade in an animal-talking world. Playing as a suave, croaky detective in the streets of New York City, you try and solve cases that involve love, lust, and more.

This game is stylized like a noir comic book with important decisions only you can make. Not ending with a detective cat, the game also showcases various animals with their own dramatic lives. It is based on the comic book series by Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido.
