The brief appearance of a Metal Gear Solid art book in Virtuos' recruitment video hints that the team might be working on a project for the series, and lines up with earlier rumours that it's developing a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Earlier today, a fake leak spread around that claimed that Virtuos tweeted out a video showing footage of the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake and had morse code confirming an appearance at The Game Awards later this year. This was quickly proven to be fake, but the extra attention on videos released by Virtuos has uncovered something else that hints at a Metal Gear Solid project in development.

As reported by VGC, Virtuos released a recruitment video last week, highlighting some of the people who work at the studio. In one shot of the video, the "Art of Metal Gear Solid" can be seen sitting on an artist's desk, seemingly not meant to be seen by the viewer as it's only just visible.

The art book being here is interesting, as VGC previously reported that Virtuos was working with Konami on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. One of the studios' artists having a copy of the art book on their desk implies that they're using it as a reference for current work, which lines up with the rumours about a remake of Snake Eater.

Although a remake of Snake Eater has yet to be officially announced or even teased by Konami, who only recently revealed the long-rumoured remake of Silent Hill 2, Virtuos lead programmer Zhiyang Li mentioned that he'd been working on an "unannounced [triple-A] action adventure game remake", once again corraborating the rumours that a Snake Eater remake is being worked on by the team.

For those wondering why Virtuos would start by remaking Snake Eater, the third game in the series, it's possible that Konami is trying to remake them in their chronological order this time around, as the events of the game actually take place many years before Solid Snake was even born.
